Channel Seven faces another major setback ahead of highly-anticipated new reality series

Channel Seven has dropped its new reality show Stranded on Romantic Island from their current line-up.

The heavily hyped dating series was originally scheduled to be released before the end of 2024.

But Seven bosses have now confirmed the quirky format won’t make its debut until next year.

Industry blog Television tonight reported that the show, created by the producers of Married At First Sight, was intended to air between October 1 and December 31.

The show, hosted by shock jock Jackie ‘O’ Henderson and based on a Danish format, revolves around six strangers all looking for love.

And in a bizarre twist, the matched singles get to test their compatibility after being stranded on a desert island.

The couples discover romantic sparks amid grueling hardship as they struggle to survive harsh living conditions and isolation.

As anticipation for its release builds, claims are being made that the show could be Aussie TV’s next big thing.

According to an insider, the premiere of the new series has been postponed because the network is ‘throwing’ even more money into its production.

Speak with Yahoo Australiathe source suggested the extra money was to compete with Channel Nine’s big reality TV hits such as MAFS and The Block.

The insider also suggested that the producers spent the money to secure radio icon Jackie O as narrator for the show.

A steamy trailer for the upcoming show introduced the twelve singles who hope to find love while abandoned on a remote island in the South Pacific.

The video promises an equal mix of romance and adventure, as the cast works to form romances while battling the elements.

One scene shows a new bride and groom literally diving off a yacht into crystal clear water and then kissing passionately underwater.

Another tense moment involved a woman confronting her male companion and asking why he is “in a relationship on the outside.”
