Arsenal lead the race to sign Shaktah Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk but face competition from Serie A Roma.
The 21-year-old is one of the biggest emerging talents in Ukrainian football and was the star of the show last season in Donetsk’s Champions League game against Real Madrid, where he was cheered on by the home fans off the pitch.
This season, the troublesome winger has made six appearances for Shaktah, scoring twice, including a man of the match display in their 4-1 Champions League win over RB Leipzig.
Mykhaylo Mudryk is a target for Arsenal, who are reportedly leading the race to sign the Ukrainian star
The Gunners were linked with Mudryk over the summer and some reports claimed he had agreed personal terms with the club but the deal fell through as a price could not be agreed between the two clubs.
Now according to Fichajes.netArsenal could be back for the left-footed star as Mikel Arteta’s looks continue to add more quality to his squad.
However, the current Premier League leaders could face competition for his signature from Jose Mourinho’s Roma.
The Ukraine international is also wanted by Roma and has received a major rejection for the winger
An offer of around £25million has already been reportedly made for the Ukrainian, but Shaktah is holding on to a fee closer to £40million and rejected the Italian club’s offer.
That price tag may not deter Arsenal and the North London side could be back on target, especially as Mudryk admitted last month that he wanted a move to the Premier League and was excited by Arsenal as a destination.
Speaking to CBS Sports, he said: “My dream is of course to play in the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta’s team top the Premier League table by four points and have already qualified for the next round of the Europa League
“Arsenal is a very good team, a very good manager. So from my side I can’t say no to Arsenal!’
Mudryk’s desire to move to the Emirates is further good news for Arsenal, who have had an impressive start to the season with 10 wins from their 11 appearances.
They lead the Premier League table four points clear of champions Manchester City and have already advanced to the knockout stages of the Europa League.
