Ellen DeGeneres has decided to ditch Botox and fillers.

The stand-up comedian, 66, said in her latest Netflix special ‘Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval’ that she is embracing aging and has stopped having cosmetic procedures on her face.

‘I always said I didn’t care what other people thought of me. I realize now, looking back, that I said that at the height of my popularity,” Ellen said on the show, which premiered on Tuesday.

“Hey, if I look older than when you last saw me, it’s because I’m older than when you last saw me. And I also stopped using Botox and fillers.’

Ellen also revealed that she was battling a series of health issues and began therapy after infamous workplace allegations against her impacted her mental health and led to the axing of her eponymous talk show.

“I used to do Botox and fillers when I didn’t care what other people thought of me… such a waste of time worrying about what others think of us,” she said.

‘Just a waste of energy. We’re just guessing, we don’t know. It’s impossible to guess what people are thinking.’

She also opened up about her litany of health problems.

Ellen told how, after taking a bone density test, she discovered she had osteoporosis.

She added: “I don’t even know how I get up now. I’m like a human sandcastle. I could fall apart in the shower.”

“It’s hard to be honest about getting older and look cool.”

‘One day I was in excruciating pain and I thought I had torn a ligament or something. I got an MRI and they said, ‘No, it’s just arthritis.’

‘I said, ‘How do I get that?’ And he said, ‘Oh, it just happens at your age.'”

Ellen has also been diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder and ADHD.

Regarding the circumstances, she added: “So I have ADHD, I have obsessive compulsive disorder – I’m losing my memory.

“But I think I’m well-adjusted because I’m obsessed with things, but I don’t have the attention span to stick to them, and I quickly forget what I was obsessed with in the first place.”

“So it takes me a long way to be well adjusted, I guess.”

Ellen Degeneres: For Your Approval is now available to stream on Netflix.

In July, Ellen revealed that she is ‘done’ with show business after her latest Netflix special.

DeGeneres took the stage for a stand-up show in Santa Rosa during her Ellen’s Last Stand… Up tour, two years after her talk show was canceled following the toxic workplace scandal that tarnished her reputation as a favorite TV host.

During the show, the comedian discussed her departure from the spotlight and joked that she will be canceled next time because she is “old, gay and mean.”

When asked if she would ever become famous again in the future, she firmly ruled out the possibility.

‘This is the last time you’re going to see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done.’

DeGeneres’ scandal was sparked by a single tweet written by comedian Kevin T. Porter in March 2020, asking people for the “most insane stories you’ve ever heard about Ellen’s meanness,” which received 2,600 responses.

Four months later, BuzzFeed News published an exposé featuring one current and ten former employees of the former Louisiana-born Funny Woman’s former daytime talk show, alleging racism, workplace bullying and sexual harassment.

By August 2020, WarnerMedia had launched an internal investigation, Ellen had issued a formal apology to its 255 employees, and executive producers Ed Glavin, Kevin Leman, and Jonathan Norman were all fired from the show.

DeGeneres – who also apologized to fans on air – aired her final episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show on May 26, 2022 after 19 seasons.

She later called it a “coordinated misogynistic” attack on her and she has largely stayed out of the spotlight since the talk show’s finale aired on May 26, 2022.
