Wheel of Fortune viewers left gobsmacked after contestant makes embarrassing one-letter mistake during showbiz round: ‘Talk about blowing it!’

Wheel of Fortune viewers were left stunned after a contestant made an embarrassing one-letter mistake on the game show.

Rasheda joined fellow contestants Teresa and Derrick on Tuesday’s Wheel of Fortune: BetMGM Big Winners Tournament episode, hosted by Ryan Seacrest.

The category was ‘show biz’ and after getting some letters on the board, Rasheda decided to solve the word puzzle.

Unfortunately, she was one letter off. The answer was “Michael B. Jordan stars in Creed,” but Rasheda got the actor’s name wrong and called him “Michael P. Jordan.”

Just then, Teresa walked in and correctly guessed the Hollywood heartthrob’s name.

Rasheda’s costly mistake left viewers stunned as they flocked to social media to express their disbelief.

“I know this Wheel of Fortune lady didn’t just say ‘Michael P. Jordan Stars In Creed’, I’m devastated for her,” one commenter wrote.

‘Who is Michael P. Jordan?!’ another asked with laughing and crying emojis.

‘MICHAEL P JORDAN?!? HOW F**K THAT?!’

“This lady just said Michael P. Jordan…” someone else chimed in.

“We’re all wondering how she missed that.”

“Vanna’s face when that lady said Michael P. Jordan was talking about blowjobs!”

‘Who is Michael P Jordan? Girl…” someone else wondered.

“Not Michael P. Jordan,” another comment said.

Jordan, 37, rose to fame for his roles in the films Creed and Black Panther, and the critically acclaimed HBO series The Wire.

He played Adonis Creed in the Creed franchise. Creed is the son of Apollo Creed, Rocky Balboa’s former rival turned friend.

He reprized his role of Creed in Creed II (2018) and Creed III (2023).

The new episode comes after host Ryan was criticized for his lack of empathy following a Wheel of Fortune contestant’s heartbreaking $1 million loss, as some viewers claimed Pat Sajak would have handled the situation better.

The 49-year-old television personality – who has struggled to win over fans of the game show – had critics displeased on a recent episode of the show as he entered his second week of guest appearance.

The latest controversy started after contestant Vivian made it through the bonus round to win the ‘What are you doing?’ puzzle.

She made the bold move of choosing C, H, M and P for her consonants, with I being her vowel.

Ryan asked how the contestant was doing before the reveal, to which she responded “nervous” as the letters lit up.

Vivian made her guesses in an attempt to solve the puzzle and said, “I wonder some help, answer some help, find some help, look around for some help, limit for help.”

However, she was unable to do this because the buzzer went off because the correct answer was ‘provide help’.

Then came the most heartbreaking moment when Ryan opened the envelope with a smile and showed her that the prize was actually for the coveted $1 million pot.

The contestant was completely shocked as she put her hands on her head.

Ryan continued to smile and chuckle as he said, “You were so close to that million dollars. You almost had it.’

One viewer expressed their dismay when they wrote: ‘He needs to work on his empathy skills. Lol yes!! Can he still remember what it’s like not to be rich?! lol, oh Ryan.”

American Idol host Ryan officially took over from long-serving host Pat earlier in September, and was quickly called out for not mentioning the former host by name following Pat’s departure after 40 years at the helm.

Now viewers are complaining about ‘overproduction’ and ‘fake emotion’ from participants, with some even questioning whether the players are ‘paid actors’.
