Fans dub K-pop star Lisa the ‘worst lip-syncer ever’ after botched live performance at Global Citizen Festival

K-pop star Lisa was dubbed the “worst lip syncer ever” by fans following a recent performance at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City on Saturday.

BLACKPINK singer Lisa, real name Lalisa Manobal, 27, took to the stage in Central Park for the massive charity event but left fans disappointed.

Lisa – who recently wowed at the 2024 MTV VMAs – performed as one of the headliners at the star-studded event, alongside artists like Post Malone and Doja Cat.

She made her debut at the festival with her unreleased single Moonlit Floor, which samples Sixpence None the Richer’s hit Kiss Me.

But her vocal performance was disappointing to many, with one fan writing: ‘Lip syncing while sitting with no choreo is crazy.’

“This girl is allergic to live singing, the queen of lip sync,” wrote another.

“Since likes are private, we can all agree this is the worst lip sync ever,” someone else chimed in.

The scathing comments continued, with another fan writing: “L in LISA stands for Lip Sync.”

“The worst part is she doesn’t even try to hide the fact that she’s lip-syncing.”

“Girl is also shamelessly lip-syncing at festivals..” another commenter added.

Someone else asked: ‘Why do you take your microphone with you if you’re not going to use it…’

‘Lip sync went wrong, that’s embarrassing.’

Others wrote: ‘Someone needs to explain the concept of live performance to her’ and ‘Lisa will never turn her microphone on.’

Despite the bad reviews from fans, Lisa looked fantastic at the festival, wearing a ripped black and yellow bodysuit and leather hot pants with silver fringes.

She completed the outfit with black lace-up boots.

Her dark brown locks flowed down her shoulders and back.

Earlier this month, Lisa made history when she won Best K-Pop at the MTV Video Music Awards for her song ROCKSTAR, becoming the first K-pop solo artist to receive this honor.

Lisa made a name for herself as part of the four-member South Korean girl group Blackpik that debuted in August 2016.

The band has not officially broken up, but all four members have started solo careers.

In September 2021, she released her debut single Lalisa, making her the first female artist to sell 736,000 copies of an album in its first week in South Korea.

Lisa will make her acting debut in the highly popular series The White Lotus when season three debuts sometime in 2025.

In May, Lisa made her first public appearance with billionaire LVMH heir Frédéric Arnault, amid their rumored romance, which reportedly began in 2022.

Lisa joined Frédéric, 28, at an event for TAG Heuer and Formula 1 in Miami.

Frédéric – the son of the richest man in the world Bernard Arnault – is the CEO of LVMH Watches, owner of TAG Heuer.
