Travis Kelce’s stance on girlfriend Taylor Swift attending every Chiefs game revealed in resurfaced clip

Despite the absence of his superstar girlfriend, Taylor Swift, from recent NFL games he’s played in, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce says he doesn’t need her all the time.

Kelce returned to form in a strong performance against division rival Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday – while Swift was absent for the second week in a row.

But in a resurfaced clip from 2016, Kelce laid out his expectations for whoever he’s dating when it comes to attending his games.

In the clip, Travis tells WhoSay, “If you’re dating a professional athlete, I don’t believe, at least for me, that you have to go to all the games.”

“I mean, there’s eight home games, eight away games and playoffs,” Kelce added at a time when the NFL schedule was only 16 games long.

If Travis Kelce’s feelings from 2016 haven’t changed, he doesn’t expect Taylor Swift to be at every game he and the Kansas City Chiefs participate in.

Kelce added that this expectation didn’t just apply to the people he was dating, saying, “I don’t even expect my parents and my friends to make every game.”

Swift showed her face during the first two games of the season — both in Kansas City — before hitting Sunday Night Football in Atlanta and then last week’s game in Los Angeles.

While he doesn’t need his boo at every game, Kelce said he wishes they had his back all the time.

“I need her to cheer when we do a great job, just to make sure that look is presented to everyone,” Kelce said.

Swift has that energy in spades, as evidenced by the many games she competed in last season — with the cameras often cheering her on in the luxury suites of Arrowhead Stadium and elsewhere.

But it’s been a bit of a slow start this year for Kelce as he struggled to rack up yards and catches through the first three games of the season. That changed on Sunday, when Kelce led the Chiefs with seven catches on nine targets for 89 yards.

Kelce recorded his 917th reception in red and white in the first half. This feat broke Tony Gonzalez’s record of 916 catches.

The tight end will hope to keep the momentum going with a Monday Night Football matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
