Goldie Hawn reveals secret behind 40-year relationship with partner Kurt Russell

Goldie Hawn has revealed the secret to her successful long-term relationship with Kurt Russell, which has lasted more than four decades.

“You have to have good sex,” Goldie, 78, said Friday at her Love-In Gala celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Goldie Hawn Foundation and MindUP, according to an article by E! News.

‘Because sex is something that connects you and creates more connection. People with healthy sexual relationships usually last much longer. But it’s not just the act, it’s the warmth and intimacy it creates,” she continued.

Goldie jokingly added, “You gotta be nice to each other sometimes.”

The Oscar-winning actress and Kurt, 73, have been together since 1983 and have son Wyatt Russell, 38, along with daughter Kate Hudson and son Oliver Hudson from Goldie’s second marriage.

She also brought up that couples don’t always see eye to eye and that should be welcomed.

“You know you’re not the same person,” she said. ‘You don’t often think the same way. And you have to accept that, but you have to measure: are we enjoying it, or is this something we want to do? Did we laugh together? Do we share certain things? You don’t have to share everything.’

Goldie also suggested that people should remain realistic about their expectations in a relationship.

‘We have a lot of expectations, I think, when it comes to relationships, but you have to like the person. That’s very important,” Goldie said.

Kurt also shared his advice on forming a strong partnership.

“Most people who have been together for a long time, I think, have one thing in common,” Russell told E! at the gala in Beverly Hills, California. ‘And that is that after so many years together you have experienced just about everything there is to experience and understand all the ups and downs and what it means.’

“I just think it’s great that we met and that we’re still doing it. We still enjoy being together,” Kurt added.

Kurt also has son Boston Russell, 44, with ex-wife Season Hubley, 73.
