Stacey Solomon is noticeably absent from Loose Women’s 25th anniversary snap after she announced her shock career shakeup

The Loose Women celebrated their 25th anniversary on Saturday with a stunning group photo, featuring all the show’s current stars in honor of the milestone.

However, one notable absence from the picture was Stacey Solomon, who cast doubt on whether she will ever return to the ITV show after revealing her surprise career change earlier this summer.

The former singer has built a career in television presenting since she first came to public attention, recently winning her first National Television Award for her Sort Your Life Out series.

Despite appearing on Loose Women more than 350 times, Stacey’s only appearance this year was on the panel in June, and before that she appeared in December 2023.

Stacey also served as a brand ambassador for In The Style in 2021, but recently announced plans to take a step back from the big job so she could focus on her family.

Stacey – who has Zachary, 16, Leighton, 12, from previous relationships, as well as Rex, five, Rose, two, and 19-month-old Belle with Joe Swash – said: ‘This year I’ve been thinking a lot about balancing work and family and things that had to be given priority.’

In 2023, Stacey’s only other appearance on the show was in November, seven months after she gave birth to her youngest, but at that point she had not appeared regularly for over 18 months.

But by then she had already appeared as a judge on Bake Off: The Professionals, taking over the role of comedian Tom Allen.

Linda Robson, Stacey’s only co-star to attend her 2022 Pickle Cottage wedding, explained The sun that the mother of five is ‘too busy’ to return to full-time work, as she has her hands full with various other projects.

She said: ‘I’d like her to come back, she’s a really good loose woman – she’s very honest. But I think she’s wearing too much.

“She has her own show and she and Joe are in their cottage. She’s still very welcome, but she’s so busy.’

Until 2021, it wasn’t unusual for Stacey to appear up to three times a week, but lately she’s been appearing less and less.

Loose Women first aired on September 6, 1999 and a new photo released by ITV features all the current stars.

Other famous faces to have appeared over the years include former cruise ship singer Jane McDonald, who recently made an emotional return to the agency, and Katie Price, who was a regular from 2015 to 2018.

In addition to tackling a range of taboo topics, some of the biggest guests to appear over the years include Britney Spears, Whoopi Goldberg, Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift.

Loose Women editor Sally Shelford said: ‘Over the past 25 years, Loose Women has tackled taboos and spoken about issues not openly discussed on television, including domestic abuse, menopause, miscarriage and bereavement.

“Our incredible audience in the studio and at home has always been the fifth Loose Woman, and we promise we will continue to talk, share and shine a light on important topics like this for our amazing viewers.”
