Troye Sivan reveals how he manages his mental health and shares poignant message with his teenage self: ‘I’m pretty firm about my weekends’

Troye Sivan has revealed how he keeps himself mentally healthy.

Speaking with the Daily Telegraph over the weekend, the Australian pop star, 29, said he used three key things to manage his mental health.

“Exercise, real connection with friends or family, and taking some time off,” he admits.

The Rush hitmaker claimed that although he is busy, free time is especially important.

‘I’m also quite strict about my weekends and my working hours. I really try to prioritize free time.”

The singer-songwriter also reflected on what he would advise his teenage self after knowing what he knows now.

“I would just say, ‘Trust yourself.’ I believe there is no right or wrong answer when it comes to your perspective.

“I never really feel the pressure to look over my shoulder and compare myself to anyone else because I do what feels right to me, what feels exciting to me, and what is true to me.

“Listen to yourself, and everything else will fall into place,” the pop star said.

It comes as Troye recently claimed he only goes on tour with Charli XCX to meet people on Grindr as “really homophobic.”

The One Of Your Girls singer pulled no punches when he responded to a now-deleted ‘blind item’ that was picked up by TikTok account Celebritea Blinds.

It claimed that Troye’s co-headlining North American Sweat tour with Charli XCX saw lackluster ticket sales.

It also claimed that Troye didn’t care about ticket sales and was only interested in connecting with men through the gay dating app Grindr.

“His label doesn’t contribute anything to his tour at all so he doesn’t really care about sales,” the blind item claimed.

“He’s just happy to be on the road and hitting Grindr at every stop.”

A clearly irritated Troye took to TikTok to respond to the claims.

“Straight people are way too comfortable,” he said in the short rebuttal video.

‘I released an album. I’m touring the album with Charli XCX.

‘We play 22 shows throughout the country, which are 95 percent sold out. the only city we flop in is Nashville, and that’s 78 percent.”

Troye added that he didn’t need an app to cultivate relationships.

“To say that I travel across the country going on Grindr at every stop is really homophobic. It’s a real stereotype,” he said.

‘Don’t be ashamed of sex. I don’t have to travel across the country to have sex. I can get sex wherever I want. I can get laid in LA.”

In signing off, he reiterated that tickets were actually sold for the 22-day tour.

“I’m going on tour because I put out an album and people are buying tickets to see the show, so f**k you,” he said.
