Katie Holmes was spotted on a casual solo outing in New York City on Saturday.
The Dawson’s Creek star, 45 — who recently received positive reviews for her Broadway play, Our Town — took a casual stroll on her day off while her daughter, while Suri Cruise, 18, enjoys her first semester of college at Carnegie Mellon University.
Tom Cruise’s ex-wife looked comfortable in a colorful sweater and loose sweatpants during a phone call.
She wore her brunette locks in a ponytail and carried a Tribeca Festival tote bag.
Holmes wore sunglasses and threw a white designer bag over her shoulder.

The Dark Knight actress seemed to be in good spirits as she enjoyed her Big Apple getaway all alone.
It looks like the brunette beauty is coping well with an empty nest after dropping off her only child, whom she shares with the Mission Impossible star, at college in Pennsylvania in August.
Tom and Katie were married from November 2006 until calling it quits in August 2012, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Cruise was absent that day due to his daughter’s move, but his ex-wife was there to support their daughter — and Suri’s classes started on August 26, according to the school. website.
And the child of Hollywood movie stars will have a very different home from what she’s used to in New York City, as Suri shares a dorm room with another female student.
“Suri wants to get the full college experience, so she’s trying out the dorms and getting a roommate,” an insider told DailyMail.com at the time.
“She’s excited for a new chapter in her life.”
Instead of mother Katie’s luxurious three-bedroom high-rise apartment, the teenager lives in a bare dormitory.
Katie has previously hinted that Suri may study acting and dance at Carnegie Mellon.
Holmes told it magazine City and Country that her only child wants to go into showbiz after university.

The magazine claimed that Suri “would be interested in pursuing a career in fashion or acting.”

Katie has already had Suri work on some of her own projects.
Suri contributed vocals to songs in two of Holmes’ films: the 2023 drama Rare Objects and the 2022 romantic drama Alone Together.
“I’m proud of my daughter,” Holmes told Town & Country about her daughter.
