Tommy captioned the clip: “I wouldn’t touch this.”
At the beginning of the video, he denounced “plug-in air fresheners.”
He claimed: ‘These air fresheners often contain volatile organic compounds. These have been linked to several forms of cancer, and are also known to cause migraines, neurological problems and asthma.”
The lawyer noted that the air fresheners often contain various chemicals that can worsen health.
According to UMass EHS‘These exposures, even at relatively low levels, have been associated with a range of adverse health effects.’
The next product he advised people to skip is one you might have stocked up on during the start of the pandemic: antibacterial cleansers.
He explained that some antibacterial cleaners contain ‘pesticides’, adding that spraying them in your home can lead to a variety of health problems.
“Personally, I don’t want to spray pesticides in my house,” the content creator added.

Two years ago, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the EPA noted that Lysol Air Sanitizers was a “new pesticide product that can be used in the air against bacteria and viruses such as influenza and coronaviruses.”
At the time, the EPA conducted an exposure test to determine how safe the products were.
The official statement was: ‘This product does not pose an unreasonable adverse risk to human health or the environment.’
Finally, Tommy suggested staying away from mothballs.
“I don’t even know if anyone uses these anymore, they’re really grandma and grandpa type things,” he said.
The attorney explained that mothballs, which are made to keep moths away from clothing, are extremely toxic and contain “naphthalene,” which mixes with air to form a poisonous gas.
He added, “That’s basically the mothball smell you’re smelling. That is a suspected cancer cause.’
According to Los Angeles Department of HealthMothballs are poisonous to humans and pets.

‘People are exposed to the chemicals in mothballs by inhaling the fumes. Children or pets sometimes mistake mothballs for food or candy and eat them, which can have serious consequences,” the health department notes.
