Shoppers race to buy $15 Walmart dupe of viral sensation
Shoppers who were hoping to get their hands on the staple Stanley Quencher must-have can now pick up a $15 dupe at Walmart.
The much talked about Stanley brand tumbler caused an internet frenzy and its dupes are starting to sell out like crazy.
“With a 40-ounce capacity, this reusable cup is the drinkware everyone needs in their pantry,” Walmart wrote in its mention.
Like the Stanley Quencher, Walmart’s cup comes with vacuum insulation and a cup holder-friendly base.
It’s also available online in nearly 30 colors, and the aqua blue cup currently retails for $13.
Walmart currently sells a dupe of the Stanley Quencher online for $13 to $15. The retail chain also sells the dupe at several locations
The Stanley Quencher has always been one of the Seattle-based brand’s most popular cups, but in 2020 its popularity suddenly grew.
The tumbler, which retailed for between $35 and $55 at various stores, helped boost Stanley’s sales from $73 million in 2019 to $750 million in 2023, according to CNBC.
“The Quencher has become an internet sensation over the past two years,” Terence Reilly, global president of the Stanley brand, said in a 2022 press release.
“As it has rapidly risen in popularity – with stock selling out in minutes and videos quickly going viral on social media – we wanted to continue to offer our consumers innovative products and solutions.”
One of the popular tumblers is the Quencher H2.0 Flowstate tumblerwhich, according to the listing, is available in more than 30 colors.
However, the customer ratings for both products are drastically different.
Every product listing on Walmart and Stanley’s websites had more than 11,000 reviews, and while the Quencher had almost four stars, Walmart’s Ozark Trail 40Oz Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Tumbler had almost five stars.

Although fewer than 550 Walmart customers gave the Ozark Tumbler a one-star review, they weren’t afraid to voice harsh criticism of the product.
“I only returned one of the two cups I purchased because I used it thinking it would keep my water cold,” one cup buyer wrote.
‘I don’t recommend purchasing this product if your main goal is to maintain the temperature of your drinks.’
Several other one-star reviewers claimed that the handles on their cups fell off almost immediately after purchase and that some products had scratches, dents, or no straws.
More than 9,200 Walmart shoppers only praised the product in their reviews and complemented the colors.
‘I ordered the 40 oz cup, “Red Mark.” It’s more of a raspberry than a true red. Plus, for $15 they build the best cup you will ever find,” wrote one Walmart customer.
The customer added that they like the Walmart cup better than Stanley and Yeti and that it is better than all the $50, $20 and $10 cups on Amazon and eBay.
Another five-star reviewer wrote, “My daughter got it as an early Valentine’s Day gift. It’s quite big, but it encourages her to drink her water at a fraction of the cost of a Stanley.’
