At first glance, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom seems like a simple successor to the 2019 one Link’s Awakening remake, with its top-down perspective and toy aesthetic, but there’s one significant twist that sets it apart from this and other games in the series: this time around, you play as Zelda.
The long-awaited change of direction sees the addition of echoes, where Zelda can use her Tri Rod to create duplicates of objects and enemies she discovers, and use them in solving puzzles and combat, similar to the more creative, emergent action seen in Breath of the Wilderness And Tears of the Kingdom.
