Chris Eubank Jnr apologises for blasting promoters as ‘scumbags’ in explosive press conference – after a furious Frank Warren threatened to sue over outburst
Chris Eubank Jnr has apologised after he slammed “rogue” promoters during a dramatic press conference on Wednesday evening.
The 35-year-old slammed Frank Warren, Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn and Wasserman Boxing promoter Kalle Sauerland during a press conference in London ahead of the bout between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.
Eubank Jr. will appear on the undercard against Kamil Szeremeta on October 12 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
He was asked about his recent decision to sign for Ben Shalom’s BOXXER promotions, promoting Eubank Jr. to other promoters.
“Why BOXXER? Because all the other promoters here are scumbags,” he said.

The boxer took on a promoter in London, provoking a furious response from Frank Warren
Warren took issue with Eubank Jr.’s comments and later threatened legal action
‘He [Frank Warren] sued me for a couple hundred thousand dollars a few years ago, so of course I would never go with him. Slut.
‘Kalle Sauerland, kept me in a terrible contract for years. Slut.
‘Eddie Hearn and Frank Smith have done everything they can to get this Connor Benn to fight. So yeah, bastards. The only one who doesn’t is Turki Alalshikh [Saudi Arabia’s boxing powerbroker].
“This is a man who is not trying to make money off fighters, and who uses lawyers and accountants in slave contracts.”
Warren was visibly furious when Eubank Jr interrupted him and the Queensbury Promoters boss said: ‘Why do we have to listen to this bastard?
‘Then fight Hamzah Sheeraz, you bastard. Why don’t you fight certain fighters?’
Warren, who had previously sued Eubank Jr. for breach of contract, later threatened legal action over the boxer’s comments.
“The crux of the matter is very simple. He was sued by me for a legal breach of contract and I successfully sued him and he paid substantial damages,” Warren said in an interview on talkSPORT.
“Now you know what he can’t accept is what’s legal and what’s not. And as for what he just said, just so you know, I’ll keep it short and sweet. He’s going to be sued again for the comments that he made publicly.
Eubank Jr. later released a statement retracting his comments and Warren accepted his apology

He will return to the ring next month in Saudi Arabia, where he will face Kamil Szeremeta.
“He’s going to be sued and he’s going to have a problem with that. And anyone who says that can get in that line.”
Eubank Jr. also shared a video of his comments on social media, writing: ‘I just say it like it is’.
Eubank Jr. and Warren later released a joint statement, with the boxer apologizing for his comments during the press conference.
“Following today’s press conference regarding the historic Riyadh season on October 12, I would like to retract my incorrect statements and apologise to Frank Warren, Eddie Hearn and Kalle Sauerland,” Eubank Jr. said.
‘I want to focus purely on boxing now and prepare for a big fight in Riyadh next month.’
Warren added: ‘I accept Chris’ apology and retraction. I have also said things before and I also apologise to him if criticism of him in the past has upset him.
“I’m looking forward to seeing him compete on this huge Riyadh Season card. We’re looking forward to some potentially huge fights in the future.”
Eddie Hearn responded to Eubank Jr. by claiming the boxer ‘threw his toys out of the pram’
Hearn also responded to Eubank Jr’s comments, with the boxer referring to his postponed 2022 fight with Connor Benn.
Benn, who is promoted by Hearn, failed a doping test before the bout, meaning the fight, which consisted of an all-Briton team, could not go ahead.
“I think he threw his toys out of the pram because he was on the bottom table,” Hearn told Boxing News.
“It will be dealt with, no comment on that one, we’ll let that be dealt with. Pretty wild, but sometimes when you say things you have to live by those words.”
