CCTV reveals moment British father of three, 31, was murdered with a bottle of vodka during a stag party in Prague

New surveillance footage shows a father of three being murdered with a bottle of vodka during a bachelor party.

David Richards, 31, was hit once in the back of the head with a bottle in what his family described as a “blind attack.”

The father, from Wales, was travelling with friends in Prague when he was fatally injured. He died in hospital on Saturday.

Shocking footage shows a group of men standing in the street at night talking. Suddenly a short fight breaks out and one man starts to fall to the ground.

In a heartbreaking tribute to Mr Richards, his family described him as an “absolutely wonderful father, partner, son, brother and friend”.

According to his grieving family, the preliminary cause of death for Mr Richards is blunt force trauma.

The avid footballer and his partner Jola Simms had three children: Aurora, four, Bear, two, and Vienna, one.

Mr Richards’ partner, Mrs Simms, his sister-in-law Tammy Sheehan and his cousin Gemma Thomas have spoken publicly on behalf of the family.

The father of three had only just returned from a family holiday in Wales the day before, before heading to Prague with a close friend for a stag weekend.

‘He left the house at 5am and it was 10pm (our time) when Gemma and Jola received a call from Nathan (Mr Richards’ boyfriend) saying that there had been an incident with David and that the whole family needed to get a flight as soon as possible because he was in a critical condition.’

When the family arrived in the Czech Republic, they hoped the devoted father’s condition would improve, but his life support equipment was switched off on Saturday afternoon.

They explained what they thought they knew so far: ‘It was not a fight as some people think, but a blind attack.

‘He died from the blunt force trauma attack. David was talking to locals on the street when he was struck in the back of the head.’

Mr Richards was described as the 'glue of the family' and died after allegedly being hit with a vodka bottle during a stag party in Prague.

According to the grieving family, a French passer-by provided first aid at the scene.

They say their ordeal was made worse by the fact that the incident took place abroad.

The family felt that the local authorities in the Czech Republic were not as helpful as expected.

“What we found as a family was that they were very abrupt and rude and just not that helpful to us. It just didn’t seem like a nice place to visit,” the family said.

“We had a terrible experience. Even when we asked for help, they looked at us very strangely.”
