Kamala Harris ripped as ‘pathetic’ for choosing first one-on-one interview with MSNBC host who defended her dodging the press

Kamala Harris finally has her first major in-person interview since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee, and she has an MSNBC host who strongly defended her strategy of avoiding the press.

The vice president’s decision to appear for a pre-recorded, solo interview with Stephanie Ruhle on Wednesday night drew widespread ridicule, with claims that she would not be asked serious questions before the election.

The news drew an immediate response from Donald Trump’s former running mate, Senator JD Vance.

“This is legitimately sad for someone running for president,” he wrote. Ruhle has explicitly supported Harris. She will not ask the tough questions.

Ruhle sparked MAGA ire last weekend after she called Donald Trump a “threat to democracy” and defended Harris as “not perfect” on Bill Maher’s HBO show

Trump responded by calling Ruhle “dumb as a rock” and a “bimbo” in a scathing post on Truth Social.

During an appearance on HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher on Friday, Rule defended Harris for dodging interviews and evading specific questions.

New York Times columnist Bret Stephens said that before voting for Harris, she had to sit down with the president and answer serious questions from reporters.

“I don’t think it’s too much to ask her to sit down for a real interview instead of a laudatory article, describing, like her, her feelings about growing up in Oakland with its beautiful lawns,” he growled, infuriating Ruhle.

“I’d just like to say, if you move to Nirvana, give me your realtor’s number and I’ll be your neighbor,” she said mockingly. “We don’t live there.”

Ruhle said voters knew enough about Trump to vote for Harris despite her lack of interviews, and that it was an easy choice without hearing more about her

“Kamala Harris is not in the business of perfection. She’s in the business of Trump,” she said. “We have two choices. And so there are a number of things that you may not know her answer to. And in 2024, unlike in 2016, many Americans know exactly what Trump is going to do, who he is, and what kind of threat he poses to democracy.”

Ruhle’s appearance on Bill Maher’s show prompted a response from former President Donald Trump, who described her as “a dumb rock star.”

The interview will air on Thursday evening at 7:00 PM EST.
