Professional organiser reveals why you should always clean your air fryer upside down – but many warned about a ‘risky’ detail
A professional organizer has wowed thousands with her “genius” way to clean an air fryer, but many pointed out a “risky detail.”
Bukie Akinmadebetter known online as The Kitchen Muse, suggested turning the appliance upside down to expose the hidden grease and grime that lay unnoticed on top.
“Have you ever turned your air fryer upside down? Do it now! I couldn’t believe my eyes!” she captioned a now-viral video.
‘I made a homemade Poison cream cleanser and went with it. Now it looks like new, I’m so happy.’
She made the cleaner by mixing baking soda, dish soap, water and Magic Cleaner in a bowl, then carefully poured it into a bottle and put it in the air fryer after unplugging it.
Bukie then used a scouring pad and some muscle to clean the device. He then wiped it down with a damp microfiber cloth. The device looked like new again.
“Do this last thing at night so it has at least 12 hours to dry before you have to use it again,” she said.
While many were impressed, others expressed concerns about using water to clean electronic devices.
Bukie Akinmade encouraged others to turn the appliance upside down to reveal the hidden fat and grime lurking unnoticed on top. However, many were quick to point out that you should never get the element of an air fryer or oven wet
The cleaning method immediately impressed thousands of people and the short clip has already been viewed more than 2.5 million times.
“I need to do this over the weekend,” someone wrote.
“Why did I watch this? Now I have to clean mine,” added another.
“I’m going to do that!” said a third.
However, many pointed out that you should never get the element of an air fryer or oven wet.
“I won’t take that risk,” someone said.
‘Electricity and water never mix, how did you clean under the element? And does it still work?’ asked another.
Someone else who previously cleaned the air fryer had a bad experience.
“I did something similar and a few drops got on the element. Now my air fryer is shutting down,” they said.
“It’s an absolute NO!” wrote someone else.
Only clean an electronic kitchen appliance when it is switched off and unplugged.
