Exes Johnny Depp and Amber Heard both spotted in Spain… eight years after their split and two years after controversial defamation trial

Exes Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have ended up in the same country, just a year after Heard moved abroad.

Depp, 61, continues his comeback by attending the world premiere of his new film Modi at the San Sebastian Film Festival.

The actor was spotted welcoming a large group of fans to his hotel on Monday upon his arrival on the northern coast of Spain.

About a five-hour drive southwest of Madrid, Depp’s ex Heard was also spotted with her three-year-old daughter Oonagh Paige on Monday.

The actress, who first moved to Mallorca, Spain and then to Madrid in late 2022, gave a brief statement when asked how she feels about her ex also being in Spain, albeit a few hours away.

“I live here in Madrid, I love Spain. I’m very lucky to be here, and as for my past, I don’t feel like thinking about it or talking about it because I’m happy and at peace,” Heard said.

She was spotted taking a stroll with her daughter Oonagh Paige, who enjoyed a biscuit along the way.

Heard opted for a light blue blouse and brown skirt with brown flats for the outing.

Another report from The diary of Mallorca claims that Heard has changed her name to Martha Jane Cannary, although that has not yet been confirmed.

About a five-hour drive north of Madrid, Heard’s ex Depp arrived at the San Sebastian Film Festival.

The actor and filmmaker was in town on Tuesday for the world premiere of his directorial debut Modi.

During a press conference for the film in San Sebastian, Depp also appeared to reference his time with Heard.

The actor was asked about “the life of the artist” and it appeared he was referring to his ex Heard in his answer, although he did not mention her by name.

‘Each [character] has their story, because I’m sure we can say that I’ve been through some things here and there… Maybe yours didn’t turn into a soap opera. I mean, literally, on television,” Depp said, seemingly referring to his trial with Heard.

Depp appeared on the red carpet in a black shirt with a white scarf over his shoulders.

He also wore a black hat and slightly tinted glasses, as well as several silver earrings and rings.

The actor completed his look with a red jacket, black pants and black and white shoes.

The exes first met in 2009, when they landed roles in the Hunter S. Thompson film adaptation The Rum Diary.

They started dating in 2012 and got married in a civil ceremony in 2016. However, the marriage lasted just over a year.

Heard filed for divorce and a restraining order against Depp in May 2016, accusing Depp of abusing him during their relationship.

Depp filed a libel case against the publisher of British broadcaster The Sun, after it called him a “wife beater.” He ultimately lost the case and his request to appeal was denied.

In 2019, he filed a defamation lawsuit against Heard over her December 2018 op-ed in The Washington Post.

The actor was ultimately awarded $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages against Depp.

Heard countersued and was awarded $2 million in damages. Both sides appealed, but the case was settled in December 2022.
