John shared a clip of himself on Instagram the night before filming began, admitting that he had already thrown up from nerves by that point.
He said, ‘So it’s the night before we start the course. I just threw up and I’m going to try to get some sleep now.
“No seriously, I threw up, I think it was something I ate, but I feel better. Let’s see how I feel tomorrow, so there you have it – wish me luck!”

Next, we see John heading into the wilderness to begin the route, after dropping off his valuables and making a quick phone call to his loved ones.
He added: ‘I know it’s dark out and you probably can’t see anything but this is me going to get my valuables. I just spoke to Scott and texted my mum, dad and everyone to say send positive vibes.’
“I’m really scared, but it’s good to be scared, right?”
John quit Celebrity SAS after just 32 minutes at base camp. He was seen vomiting and then throwing in the towel.
In an interview with The SunJohn claimed his illness was the result of being forced to eat “dirty tofu” while being offered no other food.
John, who is not a vegetarian or vegan, said, “I would never eat tofu in my life, but you’re so hungry, you just eat it.”
The carsick patient then had to take a two-hour car ride to get the job done, leaving him completely green.
He said: ‘Then it was projectile vomit everywhere and the tofu was coming up. I thought, “I’m not going to make myself sick or hurt myself trying to prove something I don’t have to prove.”

John left Celebrity SAS after just 32 minutes at base camp and was seen vomiting before throwing in the towel.
“And it was really me who said, ‘I’m completely happy with who I am,’ I’m a completely happy person. We all have our problems and issues, but I made a mistake.”
John, who spoke candidly about the revealing allegations he faced in 2021 that led him through the DOI jury during his run on the show, began vomiting shortly after arriving at base camp for the first challenge.
After the candidates put on their military uniforms, the actor started panting and shouted, “I’m in.”
When asked by expert Mark Billingham if he wanted to see a doctor, John said: ‘No, I’m done. I just know, it’s not for me, I know who I am and what I stand for, it’s not for me’.
As the voiceover said, “After only 32 minutes on the bases, No. 13 John is the first recruit to leave the job.”
Viewers had little sympathy for the actor, calling him “pathetic” and a “diva.”
Writing: ‘Never seen anything more pathetic in my life. I bet you thought this might be a chance at redemption too. Oops!’: ‘Sad John Barrowman’: ‘John Barrowman 32 minutes’: ‘FFS John Barrowman, I knew you were a diva, didn’t think you were a huge wimp, certainly didn’t do yourself any favors there’.
‘I hope John Barrowman didn’t get paid for that pathetic performance’: ‘Can’t believe John Barrowman left the only show that would actually give him a job after 32 minutes. What a jerk’.
During the episode, John addressed allegations that he had repeatedly exposed himself on the set of the BBC One science fiction series Doctor Who and its sister series Torchwood.
He said: ‘The press claimed I was putting my dick on everyone’s shoulders.
‘That ruined me, but this course is going to help me get through it. I want people to see what kind of person I really am.’
He later added: ‘In Doctor Who and Torchwood I had to do a lot of nudity. If I was stupid, I did something stupid.
