This family/adventure film, which opens in the UK on October 18, follows the story of a robot named Roz who is shipwrecked on a deserted island and must learn to adapt to his new surroundings.

Roz bonds with the native animals and soon develops a parental bond with an orphaned goose.

The feature film stars Heartstopper favorite Kit Connor in the lead role, alongside a cast of top actors including Pedro Pascal, Billy Nighy, Mark Hamill and Catherine O’Hara.

Lupita adopted her four-legged friend last year through the Best Friends Adoption Center, but she wasn’t always a fan of cats.

She even had to undergo a form of cat therapy before starring in the horror/sci-fi film A Quiet Place: Day One, which came out in June, in which she had a feline co-star named Frodo.

“They hired someone to bring cats to my house, and on the first day they just let the cats out in front of me. I stood across the room and asked questions about why they were doing what they were doing,” she said. CBS News.

“I was afraid of cats,” Nyong’o said People. ‘I just hadn’t spent much time with them. This movie forced me to learn more about cats, and I had to look like I had a cat, and look like I cared about the cat, and look like I loved the cat. And while I was pretending to do that, I fell in love with the cats, Nico and Schnitzel. They’re so sweet and cuddly.’

“There’s something about them holding you that just melts your heart. It was a bond that I had with them,” she added.

The star said that when she returned to her “real life” and “was going through a tough time, I just had a little voice saying, ‘Get a cat,’ and I got a cat. I have no regrets.”
