Salma Hayek celebrated her daughter Valentina’s 17th birthday with a touching tribute, sharing a series of nostalgic photos of her doppelganger.
The 58-year-old actress, who recently celebrated her own milestone with gorgeous bikini photos, took the opportunity to reflect on Valentina’s “last birthday at home” in an emotional Instagram post on Saturday.
The post included a series of videos and photos showing Valentina’s journey from childhood, including special moments with her husband, French businessman François-Henri Pinault.
In one photo, Valentina sits in the backseat of a car with playful cat face paint, while in another she grins with plastic fangs. In a third photo, her adventurous side is seen climbing a tree.
“My baby celebrated his birthday at home (for now) and I’m already suffering from separation anxiety. She makes me laugh all day, teaches me so many things, keeps me motivated, inspires me in so many ways, makes me want to dance, sing, cook and makes life so exciting. I love you so much my Vale,” Salma captioned the post.

The mother and daughter have a close bond, with Valentina keen to follow in her Oscar-nominated mother’s footsteps.
“I want different things, but I almost always switch between four things,” she said Vogue Mexico in 2023. ‘I want to be an actress and then a director, because that’s what I love most.’
She continued: ‘I also think it’s harder to be a director if you don’t have experience on the other side of the screen. That could help with directing.’
The actress, who is also the stepmother of Pinault’s children Mathilde, François and Augustin, has often had Valentina at her side at red carpet events and premieres, including glamorous occasions such as the Oscars.
In 2022, the duo took their bond to the next level and were featured together in a special article in Vogue MExco.
Salma and François-Henri, who married in 2009, recently appeared on the Sunday Times Rich List for 2024 with a combined fortune of around $7.7 billion.
Their wealth has fallen from around $10.1 billion in 2023, dropping them from 21st to 31st place on the list.
Pinault has been chairman and CEO of Kering since 2005, while Salma Hayek’s net worth is estimated at over $125 million, thanks to her successful film career and lucrative ventures in the beauty and fashion industries.
Before meeting Salma, François-Henri was married to Dorothée Lepère, with whom he has two children, François and Mathilde.
He also had a brief relationship with supermodel Linda Evangelista, with whom he has a son, Augustin.

The birthday party also comes after Salma revealed one of the last thoughts she had when she thought she was going to die in a plane crash with her friend Penelope Cruz.
Salma and her Hollywood co-star Penelope, 50, who have been friends for more than 20 years, endured a terrifying experience when their plane had to make an emergency landing in Mexico.
Penelope already had a fear of flying and the pair realised something had gone wrong when a crew member jumped out of the cockpit and put on an oxygen mask.
During an interview for Vogue ArabiaPenelope asked Salma what she had learned from this terrifying experience.
Salma said to her, “You’ve always been afraid of flying and you always give me instructions on what to do if you die in an accident!”
