Cate Blanchett turns heads in chic double denim look as she arrives at 72nd San Sebastian International Film Festival to receive Donostia Award

Cate Blanchett turned heads as she arrived at the 72nd San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain on Saturday.

The 55-year-old actress looked chic in a denim, double-breasted blazer with tan contrasting piping and matching straight-leg jeans.

To accentuate the subtle details of her top, she wore brown leather mules and large, tinted sunglasses.

The Borderlands star, who brought back her viral spoon outfit during the Toronto International Film Festival screening of Disclaimer earlier this month, opted for a pared-back outfit with accessories and wore a massive gemstone on her wedding ring finger.

This comes just months after Blanchett and her husband, playwright Andrew Upton (58), sparked divorce rumours when she stopped wearing her wedding ring and sold her Melbourne home.

However, Blanchett has since dismissed speculation of a split and decided to make a public appearance with him at an event in London.

Before accepting the Donostia Career Achievement Award in Spain, she was all smiles as she made her grand arrival on her own.

The former Tár artist appeared to be in high spirits as she blew kisses to fans and posed for photos with festival director José Luis Rebordinos.

The two-time Oscar winner looked radiant with minimal to no makeup and her platinum blonde bob cut into her naturally straight hairstyle.

At the film festival, Blanchett will add another milestone to her illustrious career, winning more than 200 awards with the Donostia Award.

She will personally receive the award in San Sebastian, where she will also visit the festival for the first time.

Blanchett is the second Australian actor to receive San Sebastian’s top honor, after Hugh Jackman.

Earlier this month, Blanchett attended another film festival, the premiere of Rumours at the Toronto International Film Festival.

This summer she also appeared at the Venice Film Festival.

Blanchett’s latest projects include her starring role in the film adaptation of the video game Borderlands, which was released in early August.

She also stars in the Apple TV+ miniseries Disclaimer, opposite Kevin Kline.

The mysterious thriller will premiere on the streaming service on October 11.

The seven-chapter series stars Blanchett, who also serves as executive producer, as Catherine Ravenscroft, a television documentary journalist dedicated to exposing the wrongdoings of long-respected institutions.

The logline reads: ‘When an intriguing novel lands on the bed of a journalist who has built her career on exposing wrongdoing, she is shocked to realize she is a key figure in a long-buried story, one that exposes her darkest secret.’

After this, she will be seen on stage again for the first time in six years.

She will play the role of Irina Arkadina in an adaptation of the play The Seagull by Russian writer Anton Chekhov.
