Taylor Swift fans turn on pop icon after she endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, Daily Mail poll reveals

Taylor Swift’s reputation may have never been worse, at least among Republicans, according to a new poll after the megastar endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president.

An exclusive DailyMail.com poll conducted by JL Partners reveals the depth of the hatred between the global superstars and the GOP after they weighed in on the 2024 race earlier this month.

The survey found that Swift has become a victim of polarization, with 57 percent of Republicans having a negative opinion of the 34-year-old global star, while 71 percent of Democrats have a positive opinion of the singer of ‘The Tortured Poets Department’.

Among independents, 50 percent have a positive or somewhat positive image of the singer, while 27 percent have a negative image of her.

“It’s finally here: Taylor Swift has gone from Miss Americana to The Archer in the political crossfire,” said James Johnson, co-founder of JL Partners.

“It, like so many other things in American discourse, from the economy to news broadcasting, is now viewed through a partisan lens,” he added.

The poll, conducted September 13-15 among 1,054 likely voters, came just days after Swift announced she would vote for Harris in the presidential election.

Swift made her high-profile announcement on Instagram shortly after the presidential debate ended on September 10, writing in a post, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.”

She signed the post “Childless Cat Lady” in a dig at Trump and his running mate JD Vance.

According to the poll, several groups of voters are shrugging off the endorsement and its impact. But it’s still a love story for Swift and the young people who were ready for the endorsement.

About 52 percent of young people between the ages of 18 and 29 said they would be more likely to vote for the Democratic presidential candidate because of her support.

“While this may not have a huge impact right away, it could make a difference in states with close margins if Swift actively encourages young people to vote in October,” Johnson said.

“Harris certainly needs her help: Our poll shows that 18- to 29-year-olds strongly support Harris, but are also among the least enthusiastic about voting in November. If that changes, Donald Trump is not out of the woods yet,” he added.

Hispanic and black voters also said they would be more likely to support Harris if Swift endorsed them.

At the same time, more independent voters said they would be less likely to vote for Harris because of the endorsement: 27 percent said they would be less likely to do so, while 24 percent said they would be more likely to do so.

While Swift’s endorsement has widened the distance between the singer and some key voters, other endorsements appear to be having a bigger impact in the presidential race, polls show.

Robert Kennedy Jr.’s announcement that he is endorsing Trump appears to have had the biggest impact so far, at 22 percent.

For Harris, the endorsement that seemed to have the greatest impact came from former President Obama and First Lady Michelle, with 20 percent saying it had the greatest impact.

As for Swift’s endorsement, only four percent said it had the greatest impact, comparable to the four percent who said Oprah Winfrey’s endorsement of Harris had the greatest impact.

But that hasn’t stopped the singer’s endorsement from getting the most attention, including from the Republican candidate.

After announcing her support for the Democrat, Trump posted on social media over the weekend: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
