NYC woman, 81, makes jaw-dropping remarks about strange man who beat her on Manhattan sidewalk in unprovoked attack

An 81-year-old New York City woman was knocked to the ground in an unprovoked attack on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, but she doesn’t want her attacker to go to jail.

A woman who identified herself as Gloria was attacked outside her apartment building at West 66th Street and Amsterdam Avenue around 7 p.m. Friday.

The man hit her so hard on the back of the head that she hit her nose on a ledge and then fell flat on the ground, according to surveillance footage obtained by Fox 5shows.

Her attacker calmly walked away after leaving Gloria on the sidewalk, while her dog sniffed her helplessly.

Despite the brutality and the concussion she suffered, she doesn’t want him to go to jail. “It wasn’t directed at me,” she told the outlet. “He’s sick and he didn’t really rob me. He didn’t take anything. He just hit me for no good reason.”

Gloria, who cannot remember much of the attack, says she is “lucky” the man did not have a knife and only hit her.

She was left with a broken nose, severe swelling and a concussion, she told the local media.

Gloria, who has not seen the footage of her attack, is undeterred. She even shocked the neighbors when they saw her walking outside.

“I’m not going to hide in my apartment,” she told Fox 5.

According to the report, the number of assaults has increased by nine percent compared to last year and by fifteen percent in two years. NYPD Data.

Gloria’s attack is just one of a series of stunts against women in the Big Apple. A few months ago, an elderly woman was beaten in her home by a janitor, and a group of young women were individually punched in the face in Lower Manhattan.

Dorothy, 95, was being cared for by Medflyt’s female assistant at Home Health Care Agency on July 21 when she was attacked.

Her daughter and granddaughters watched the attack live on cameras they had set up around their Harlem apartment, but were unable to prevent it.

A video shows the janitor angrily shouting, “You’re making me angry,” at Dorothy before violently throwing two objects at her.

Later in the video she hits her with a pan, which Dorothy holds back with her arm, then throws the pan over her head.

Then the janitor came back to Dorothy with another pan and repeatedly hit her in the head with it, while she clung to her walker until she fell to the ground.

Dorothy was left with bruises, had difficulty lifting her arms and was in a lot of pain after the attack.

In the spring, several women took to TikTok to share how they had been punched in the face by a man while walking in Manhattan.

Social media influencer Halley Kate posted a clip after she was hit by a car in broad daylight while walking through New York City in March.

After Kate watched a video of herself with a large bump on her forehead following the attack, other women began to claim similar events.

TikTok personality Mikayla Toninato says she was punched in the face while walking home from class in a March video.

Toninato said she was looking at her phone and texting when a man suddenly appeared and punched her in the face.

She warned her followers not to walk around with their phones and to be “super aware” of their surroundings.

Olivia Brand also said she faced similar horrors, saying in a March video: ‘I just got literally punched by a guy on the sidewalk. He says “sorry” and then hits me in the head.’

The number of violent crimes in the city that never sleeps has fallen by 2.6 percent, while the number of serious crimes and minor assaults has risen by 4.8 and 9 percent respectively.

According to the NYPD, rapes and robberies increased by 14 and 1.2 percent, respectively.
