John Lennon’s son reveals the Taylor Swift lyric that made him feel ‘uncomfortable’

While John Lennon’s son believes Donald Trump should turn his back, he does admit he finds one of Taylor Swift’s lyrics “uncomfortable.”

Sean Ono Lennon, the only son of the late Beatles singer John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono, shared his thoughts on the former president in a post he shared on September 15 on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Lennon took the stage after the Republican presidential candidate posted the following message on Truth Social: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,” after the pop star officially endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, stating: “Hating Taylor Swift doesn’t suit her.”

Lennon, 48, said he has never been a fan of Swift’s music, but acknowledges that she is a “uniquely successful American.”

“A young woman who has done things in a way that no one before her has done. She is the kind of American who should be respected and even cherished,” he wrote in the lengthy message.

“We need more Taylor Swifts in our world, not fewer. People who continually and consistently thrive are exactly the kind of person both parties should embrace,” he urged.

He then stated that it was “not a good look” to see a “grumpy old man” getting angry with her.

‘A more “presidential” or friendly critique might have been something like, “She’s a brilliant young woman. I have a lot of respect for what she’s achieved. I don’t think she knows the reality of the party she supports. I hope her fans can make up their own minds and understand the big difference between a talent in music and an understanding of politics or economics,” he suggested.

“An old man yelling at the moon, that doesn’t look good,” he joked, before indicating that he would not support either party in the November election.

The next day, John Lennon’s late son returned to the stage to say he had heard Swift’s 2014 hit Bad Blood and admitted he wasn’t a fan of it.

“I can’t believe I forgot this one but I actually remember a Taylor song called Bad Blood (or something). I remember her rhyming “mad love” with “bad blood” and it made me uncomfortable,” he wrote, referencing the song.

“This is just to say that it’s not true. I don’t know any of the songs,” he clarified. “I do know those. I have nothing against her. I have a lot of respect for what she’s accomplished. I certainly could never do what she does.”

“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential election,” she wrote on Instagram.

Swift signed off her support for Harris with “Childless Cat Lady,” a reference to Trump’s running mate Sen. J.D. Vance, who said in a 2021 interview with Tucker Carlson that the US is run by Democrats, corporate oligarchs and “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are unhappy with their own lives and the choices they’ve made and therefore want to make the rest of the country unhappy too.”

The singer has a huge Swifties fan base and over 283 million followers on Instagram.

Her post supporting Harris was liked more than nine million times in less than a day and could boost support for Democrats.

Previous posts from the star urging people to register to vote have been directly linked to a surge in registrations, as some of her biggest supporters closely monitor her every word.

Trump responded to the show of support by saying he is “not a fan of Taylor Swift.”

“I was not a fan of Taylor Swift. It was just a matter of time. She couldn’t… there was no way you could support Biden. Look at Biden. There was no way you could support him,” he said on Fox & Friends the day after the presidential debate last week.

He called Swift a “very liberal” person and tried to dismiss her support for Harris.
