Micah Richards, Jamie Carragher and Thierry Henry reveal their all-time greatest goals… as Arsenal legend praises former team-mate

CBS analysts Micah Richards, Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher have all revealed their greatest goals of all time.

UEFA Champions League coverage by Kate Abdo, Henry, Carragher and Richards has created countless viral moments over the years.

The programme was again on television on Tuesday evening during Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over AC Milan at the San Siro.

Towards the end of the coverage, Abdo walked around the panel and asked a number of questions on a variety of topics, including their playing careers.

One of the questions asked of Richards, Carragher and Henry was: ‘What is the greatest goal ever?’

Former Manchester City defender Richards wasted no time in replying, saying: ‘Roberto Carlos. I think it was against France, free-kick where he curved the ball and it looked like it was going wide and the ball just curved. One of the best goals I’ve ever seen.’

Carragher, meanwhile, spared no detail when giving his answer, saying: ‘I’m going for another Brazilian full-back because of the game and what it meant and probably one of the best international teams of all time.

‘The goal is from Carlos Alberto. It is the fourth goal in the 1970 World Cup final in Mexico. Brazil beat Italy 4-1.

‘It starts at the back, there’s a trick, a step over. Rivellino in Tostao, in Pele and he rolls it to Carlos Alberto. When Carlos Alberto just gets there, the ball bubbles up and he volleys it.’

Like Richards and Carragher, Henry’s response came easily as he opted for his former team-mate Zinedine Zidane’s goal against Brazil in the 1998 World Cup final.

“Zizou’s header against Brazil, he gave us the World Cup,” said the Arsenal legend.

Former England captain Beckham, who won the Champions League with Manchester United in 1999, also made an impressive entrance.

He was originally introduced via video link when he appeared on a big screen in the CBS studio.
