Harry Kane has revealed which of his mischievous team-mates left a cheeky message on his match ball after scoring four goals in Bayern Munich’s 9-2 win over Dinamo Zagreb.

In a match in which he set the record for most goals in a Champions League match, the England captain became the highest scoring English player in Champions League history with 33 goals, surpassing Wayne Rooney’s total.

Kane, who also scored a hat-trick in Bayern’s Bundesliga win over Holstein Kiel on Saturday, converted three penalties on Tuesday evening – a new milestone in the competition.

As usual, Kane took home the match ball, signed by his teammates. Although one seemed to have had enough of his heroics and wrote: ‘Bro not again.’

Speaking on Instagram, Kane revealed that the culprit was summer signing Michael Olise, clearly not having been warned by his colleagues that this would happen again.

Kane was asked on the social media platform: ‘Hi Harry! WHAT A MATCH! Congratulations on your four goals! Another great selfie for the collection. We wonder who wrote that on the ball?’

“Hi guys,” the former Tottenham star replied. “Thank you! It was my man Michael Olise.”

At the Allianz Arena, Vincent Kompany’s team struck three times in the first half with Kane converting a penalty in the 19th minute.

Raphael Guerreiro scored in the 33rd minute after a great assist from Jamal Musiala and Michael Olise scored again five minutes later.

The Croats then scored twice in two minutes through Bruno Petkovic in the 49th minute and Takuya Ogiwara in the 50th minute, hoping to find a way back, but Bayern responded with two own goals in four minutes – through Kane and Olise – to restore order.

England captain Kane scored his third and fourth goals from penalties in the 73rd and 78th minutes, while Leroy Sane added another in the 85th minute before substitute Leon Goretzka headed in a record-breaking ninth.

Kane took his tally for club and country to 11 in just seven games this season. After 44 goals in 45 games for Bayern in his debut campaign, some regression was to be expected. However, he looks set for another historic season.

But despite the personal milestones, the striker’s main goal will be to secure his first piece of silverware as a professional. Incredibly, Kane is still waiting for his first winner’s medal after Bayern were overshadowed domestically by Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid in the Champions League.

He will be looking for his third hat-trick in a row when the Bavarians take on Werder Bremen on Saturday afternoon. Kompany’s side are the early leaders of the league, topping the table with three wins from their opening three games.
