Cops ‘find explosives’ in car near Trump rally on Long Island after second assassination attempt

Police have reportedly found “explosives” in a car near the spot where former President Donald Trump delivered a speech on Long Island ahead of his address on Wednesday night.

If confirmed, it would be yet another shocking security incident, coming just three days after a would-be hitman was arrested at his Palm Beach golf club.

Sources with the Nassau County Police Department reportedly told One America News Network reporter James Lalino that the protest site’s perimeter “was breached and a blue barrel was removed.”

In addition, during the police check, ‘an explosive was found in one of the vehicles’.

According to the sources, the driver eventually fled into the woods.

“Nobody saw if he had anything on him, they just saw him run. There’s a lot of cars parked right now, they’re lined up on Hempstead Turnpike, they’re just parking on the grass. Even at Eisenhower Park, they’re just parking there,” the source told Lalino, according to a report on X.

Thousands of MAGA fans are expected on Long Island this afternoon ahead of the 7:00 p.m. ET rally at Nassau Coliseum.

A large crowd has already gathered and many are camping overnight to get good seats in the indoor arena.

Since the first attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, Trump has focused primarily on indoor events.

He was shot in the right ear by assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks as shots rang out at his mid-summer rally.

Two months later, a gunman pointed an AK-47 at the former president while he was playing golf at the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach around 1 p.m. Sunday.

The Republican candidate was escorted to safety as Secret Service agents opened fire on the suspect, who was carrying a GoPro camera and a backpack along with his weapon.
