Newcastle Knights stars Kalyn Ponga and Bradman Best had the biggest smiles on their faces as they walked the red carpet with their glamorous partners at the 2024 Knights Awards on Tuesday night.
The Knights’ season ended in heartbreaking fashion with a narrow defeat to the Cowboys in the finals, but the team had plenty to celebrate at the club awards ceremony. Dane Gagai walked away with three major awards, including the Player of the Year award.
Superstar fullback Ponga appeared at the event alongside her new partner Gaby Dunn, shortly after the pair’s romance began.
Dunn, a paramedic, launched the relationship last week on Instagram by posting a photo of the two together on the beach.
She was also spotted at Knights games, supporting the talented No. 1. He was at his best against the Cowboys on Saturday night.
Bradman Best was photographed at the event alongside her glamorous partner Kayla Fenech.
She is the daughter of the best Australian boxer ever: Jeff Fenech.
In July, Fenech revealed that her father “went crazy” when she called him to tell him she was in a relationship with the Newcastle player. The former world champion explained that he had a good reason for it.

The new couple looked very much in love and their first public appearance together came shortly after Dunn, a paramedic, made their romance official on Instagram

“I have always warned my daughters not to date players from the league,” Fenech said.
‘I’ve been around footballers all my life. They’re young and they like to go out and have a good time.
“So when she called and told me, I went ballistic. I gave her a dig. She kept saying, ‘Dad, he’s a nice guy.’ Kayla told me every day how nice he was.
“Bradman knew I was angry, but he said to Kayla, ‘I will prove your father wrong’ — and he did.”
The ring legend and Best are now getting along well, even training together in boxing.

Kayla, who met Best through social media, moved to Newcastle to be closer to him.
“He’s a good person, very down to earth and treats me very well,” she said.
‘Just an all-round good person with a big heart.
“He’s actually perfect.”
Unfortunately, Best missed the elimination final against North Queensland due to a relapse of his hamstring injury.
