Weekday Windfall Lotto winner comes forward to claim his $1million prize
A lucky lottery player has won a big prize for the second time in less than four years.
The man from Carindale, Brisbane, won his $1 million prize at the Weekday Windfall on Monday night, just a few years after winning big on a Scratch-Its ticket.
“I won a $150,000 top prize in 2021 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket and that was amazing, but $1 million is pretty special,” the man told a Lott official.
The lucky gambler, who had been buying tickets for a ‘very long time’, was the sole winner of the first division prize in Monday evening’s draw.
“I never thought this day would come,” he said.
When asked what he would spend his million-dollar windfall on, the man said renovating his home was at the top of his list.
“The house needs a good paint job. We’ll start with that,” he said.

The man said he would use his winnings to fix up his house, which could use some ‘TLC’ (the stock photo shows a couple holding a lottery ticket)
“It will really help us to give the house some more attention.”
The lucky winner purchased the winning 18-game QuickPick ticket from Nextra Carindale News at his local Westfield.
Tracy Renwick, the kiosk manager, was “delighted” that the magazine had sold the lucky ticket to a regular customer.
“We are always very happy when one of our customers wins a grand prize, especially if it is a regular customer who continues to support us,” she said.
“It shows that dreams can come true. We are very happy that they have made a windfall.”
