Nicola Adams praised ‘great’ IVF for helping her become a mother after she and friend Ella Baig welcomed their son Taylor earlier this year.

In an upcoming documentary, Nicola Adams: IVF And Me, the Olympic boxer, 39, says she was “blown away” by the “instant love and connection” she felt for her son when he was born in July.

In an exclusive clip from the upcoming movie, Nicola, who shares her son with model Ella Baig, 24, admits there’s no such concept of an “ideal family” anymore, adding that it evolved with couples. same-sex and single parents.

In the clip, Nicola can be seen staring at little Taylor as he swaddled on a mat saying to the camera: ‘I was just blown away, it was like an instant connection, instant love, I was just, I couldn’t believe it was so was. I like ”wow I have a baby.”’

When a producer asks if her son looks like her, Nicola jokes that she has a “mini version” of herself.

As she and Ella change their son, Nicola praises IVF progress that has allowed the couple to become parents.

It took four rounds of IVF before Ella finally got pregnant with their son late last year.

She says, “IVF is great. When you go through all that to have a child, it shows how much you want the child, so you know for sure that he is wanted.”

As she changed her baby boy, Nicola added: ‘It’s a lot easier than you thought it would be, taking care of a baby.

“We’ve evolved in such a way that there isn’t one ideal family, it doesn’t work that way, there are same-sex couples, single parents.”

Nicola also spoke exclusively to MailOnline about the upcoming program, explaining why she and Ella decided to document their IVF journey.

She said, “We’ve always wanted to do something to record our journey. Ella especially wanted to document her journey and the physical and mental impact it had on her.

‘So little is being learned about not only IVF but also miscarriages and we wanted to change that.’

Discussing their IVF journey, she added: ‘It was difficult because I was a bystander on our journey, Ella went through it all physically and it was my job to support her emotionally.

“We have become so much stronger as a couple going through this experience together and we definitely have a deeper love and understanding for each other.”

After making a name for herself as one of the best boxers in the country, Nicola admitted it was an adjustment to adjust to raising her son.

“It’s a big change, but I’m enjoying it!” she said. “Keep a rough schedule and don’t be upset if they never stick to it!”

Baig, who has been dating Adams since 2018, posted the image next to a caption stating that her superpower made milk.
