Samantha Armytage reportedly on the move to Nine to host network’s next big reality TV hope
There is much speculation over who could host the upcoming episode of Channel Nine’s The Golden Bachelor.
Entertainment journalist Peter Ford joined the debate this week, hinting that the presenter of the Nine version of the ABC US hit will be none other than Samantha Armytage.
The popular presenter, 47, announced her departure from Seven in August after 21 years with the network.
Peter responded to a report about X, Within Media about the likely presenter, claiming it would almost certainly be the former director of Farmer Wants A Wife.
“If I were a gambler I’d put my money on @samarmytage,” Peter suggested.
‘She is now a free agent after leaving the club for 7 games and she has made it clear that she is interested in new opportunities.’
The report itself debunked rumors that former The Bachelor host Osher Gunsberg would return to the franchise.
“For those wondering if original Bachelor host Osher Gunsberg is returning to the franchise, I have some very bad news,” host Rob McKnight began.

“According to my sources, Osher missed out on a Red Rose.”
Rob added that he will be replaced by a ‘popular, but surprising’ TV presenter.
“And I can confirm, despite all the media speculation, that it is not Sonia Kruger,” he said.
Yahoo Lifestyle reported last week that Sonia may be preparing to leave Seven and host the latest iteration of The Bachelor franchise.
“It’s rumoured that Sonia could reboot The Golden Bachelor on Channel Nine in 2025,” a source told the publication.
Rob said he couldn’t reveal everything yet, but that Osher’s replacement “would blow your mind.”
“If I were a betting man I’d put my money on @samarmytage,” Peter suggested on X. “She’s a free agent now after leaving 7 and she’s made it clear she’s interested in new opportunities.”

TV black box reported in August that Nine would officially announce an Australian version of The Golden Bachelor at its annual Upfronts event in October.
The original series, which aired in the US on ABC, starred 72-year-old Gerry Turner, a retired restaurateur and widower.
Gerry decided to propose to 70-year-old Theresa Nist and the network broadcast their wedding as a live special.
Despite all the fuss, the couple divorced three months later.
The series proved to be a huge ratings hit for ABC, with the finale showing on 6.1 million screens in the US, marking the franchise’s highest viewing figure in three years.
Presenter Rob McKnight said the presenter is a ‘popular, yet surprising TV presenter who will amaze you’
The premiere episode also broke ratings records for ABC, Deadline reports. It was the most-watched premiere on Hulu for a series in the franchise and ABC’s most-watched series premiere ever on the streaming platform Live+3.
The publication also reported that the strength of The Golden Bachelor led to the franchise being expanded again, as ABC announced The Golden Bachelorette.
When contacted by Ny Breaking Australia, Channel Nine said they would not confirm their 2025 programming until the Upfronts event in October.
