Huge Kyle and Jackie O star reveals they’re engaged – and it’ll be a Vegas wedding covered live on radio
Kyle and Jackie O star has tied the knot with his partner of five years and announced they will broadcast their Vegas wedding live on radio.
Newsreader Brooklyn Ross, who has been with KIIS FM for 10 years, revealed on Friday that he had proposed to his boyfriend Damien Dirienzo.
Speaking to presenters Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, the radio star revealed he got down on one knee during a romantic home-cooked dinner at their home.
“I just wanted to tell you guys that after being with my boyfriend Damien for five years… I asked him to marry me and he said yes,” Brooklyn told his radio colleagues.
As the crew screamed with excitement, Kyle, 53, cheered: “It’s a big gay wedding. Oh, great.”
The shock jock then revealed that his own brother Chris’s recent wedding had inspired Brooklyn to get engaged.
“I know what happened. You and Damien were at my brother Chris and Nat’s wedding and you got caught up in the emotions,” Kyle said.
Brooklyn agreed, saying, “They were actually together for less time than Damien and I. That was kind of the point and I thought, ‘We have to do it now.'”

The newsreader then went on to detail how he decided to propose to Damien, saying that he originally wanted to do it on the radio.
“At first I was going to bring him here and do it on the radio. But then Jackie said, ‘Are you sure you want to do it here? Is that really romantic?'” he said.
‘I ended up just making dinner at home. I made him the dinner that I had first cooked for him when he first came to my house. A salmon and fennel creation.
‘I had a little party, red roses and candles and it was just a perfect night.
‘Then I took him out to our balcony. I was thinking in my head, “What am I going to say?” but when it happened, I just said, “Will you marry me?”‘
Kyle and Jackie, 49, called the proposal “really cute” before sharing video footage of the happy moment.

Listeners could hear the moment Damien entered the house he lived in with Brooklyn and saw the romantic dinner he had prepared.
“I’m shocked. What is this?” he said, to which Brooklyn replied, “Just a little surprise dinner.”
“Oh my god, I almost feel so bad. Why did you do this?” Damien said, stunned by the gesture and still unaware of the proposal that was about to happen.
“Because I want to ask you a question,” Brooklyn confessed.
Damien started to get it and said, ‘Wait a minute. Oh my god, look at all these cameras. This is so random.’
“I love you so much and I wanted to ask you before we leave… will you marry me?” Brooklyn said sweetly as he got down on one knee.
“Yes. Oh my god. Yes!” Damien replied.

When Kyle and Jackie asked Brooklyn for details about what his wedding ceremony with Damien would look like, he admitted he wanted a Las Vegas wedding.
“Damien and I both didn’t want a big church wedding. We didn’t want that,” he said.
“We’re all going to Vegas in a week, so I thought, let’s have a Vegas wedding.”
Kyle was visibly excited at the thought of a Las Vegas wedding for his colleague and close friend.
He said, ‘We’re not just going to the iHeart Music Festival. You and Jackie and your new husband are going to New York, too.
“Then we’ll all be in Los Angeles. This is going to be the best trip ever.”

“The wedding and honeymoon rolled into one,” agreed Brooklyn, who said he considered having an Elvis impersonator at the ceremony.
He also agreed to tie the knot at A Little White Wedding Chapel, the site where Britney Spears married Jason Alexander in 2004, only to divorce 55 hours later.
Brooklyn announced his engagement on Instagram, just moments after sharing the news live on the radio.
He uploaded photos of the magical night where he got down on one knee and proposed to her with a Tiffany ring on their balcony.
With the Sydney skyline in the background, Brooklyn had lit candles and set up an outdoor dining area so they could enjoy a romantic meal together to celebrate.
“He said yes!” Brooklyn captioned the series of photos, which also feature him posing with Damien and their Keeshond, Edamame.
Brooklyn’s famous friends flocked to the comments on his post to leave their congratulations and well wishes
On the table in front of them was the beautiful diamond-encrusted ring with which Brooklyn had proposed to Tiffany. However, he said the couple had taken the ring with them.
“I absolutely loved the ring,” Damien confessed on the Kyle and Jackie O show, revealing that he had Brooklyn return the engagement ring in exchange for two wedding rings.
“The ring was so beautiful, but it’s not something you want to wear every day. It’s something you put on here and there for a nice thing.”
Brooklyn’s famous friends responded en masse to his post, leaving him their congratulations and well wishes.
TV presenter Beau Ryan said: “Yes, brother,” while fellow KIIS FM star ‘intern Pete’ Deppeler added: “Congratulations, best news ever.”
“I’m so happy for you both, darling,” said I’m A Celebrity presenter Julia Morris, while media personality Georgia Love said: “Congratulations!”
Fellow Kyle and Jackie O star and former rugby player Cooper Johns wrote: ‘Love wins. Congrats mate.’
