Donald Trump’s fiery new tactic to beat Kamala after claims he lost debate

Donald Trump travels west on Thursday morning for campaign rallies in Arizona, Nevada and California. His campaign team believes he can portray Kamala Harris as someone who is sympathetic but conservative in her policies.

While pundits quickly declared Tuesday’s debate a victory for Harris, those close to him believe most viewers were unsure how the Democratic nominee would address crippling prices or secure the border if she won office.

And that will be Trump’s message when he addresses his supporters in Tucson on Thursday afternoon.

Senior campaign adviser Tim Murtaugh said Trump would criticize his rival for being vague on the big issues during the debate.

“It’s the contrast,” he said of Trump’s plans for the coming days.

Former President Donald Trump will make a Western swing on Thursday in an effort to expose the holes in Kamala Harris’s policy agenda. Debate viewers said they knew more about his plans for the administration than hers in an online poll conducted for DailyMail.com

‘It’s that he has a plan to make life more affordable for ordinary people. They don’t.

‘She’s actually hiding her true plans.’

And he dismissed headlines about a Harris victory as nothing more than “journalistic nonsense.”

James Johnson, co-founder of JL Partners, said his argument was borne out by a poll of independent voters he conducted for DailyMail.com immediately after the debate.

“Despite Harris being crowned the winner of the debate, independents felt there was one big question left unanswered: What would Kamala Harris actually do if she were in office? Half of independents told us they still didn’t feel they knew enough about Harris’ plans after the debate, significantly more than said the same about Trump,” he said.

“That lack of detail may not be so damaging in itself — politicians have been elected with worse baggage — but if the Trump campaign can turn this into a sense that it has no convictions, principles or strength, it could become a weakness.”

The snap poll found that 49 percent of respondents thought Harris performed the best that night, compared to 43 percent who thought Trump won.

And when viewers were asked to describe in one word how listening to her made them feel, the most common answer was “hopeful.”

For Trump it was ‘irritating’.

Still, few said it changed their voting behavior, and Harris saw only a slight increase in her popularity.

And while 37 percent of respondents said they wanted to know more about Trump’s plans in office, about 50 percent said the same about Harris.

That means there is still much to be gained in the final two months of the campaign, in a race that is still too exciting to predict.

Trump will use his visit to Arizona to amplify his message to Hispanic voters in a key battleground state and to emphasize how the state is the epicenter of inflation in the country.

“Arizona residents know they would be worse off with another four years of leadership that carelessly spends our hard-earned money and continues to defend criminals instead of law-abiding citizens,” the campaign said.

“That’s exactly why Arizonans are confident that President Trump will make America affordable and safe again.”

Trump will also outline how prices in the state have risen since President Joe Biden and his vice president took office.

According to his campaign, that equates to $10,939 in additional transportation costs, $5,611 in energy and $3,968 in food.

On Friday, Trump will be at his own golf club just outside Los Angeles, where he will give a press conference.

And later that day, he flies to Las Vegas, Nevada, for a rally in another state where the election remains uncertain.

Murtaugh said the trip would emphasize Trump’s busy interactions with the media, compared to Harris’ reluctance to answer questions.

“On the issues that matter to people, she damaged herself last night because people were watching the channel looking for answers from this mysterious candidate, and they got nothing,” he said of the debate.

“People remember that, you know, like she’s hiding something… a lot of things.”
