Caitlin Clark left writing in pain after WNBA star takes an ELBOW to her face in Fever’s clash with Las Vegas Aces

Caitlin Clark suffered a hard blow to the face after a collision with Jackie Young during the Indiana Fever-Las Vegas Aces game on Wednesday.

The No. 1 draft pick was seen holding her mouth shut and writhing in pain after being elbowed.

Clark was briefly sent off, with Young then given a penalty for the incident.

The blow came after Clark dribbled the ball 30 feet and attempted a reverse layup in the bottom of the third quarter.

As the ball rose, Young boxed out for the rebound and accidentally hit Clark, who had yet to set her feet, in the face. As she descended, Clark appeared to hit Young in the face as well, as her right hand came down from the layup attempt.

The Aces guard fell on top of Clark as they both hit the hardwood and the ball bounced off the rim.

Both players remained on their backs on the ground, wincing in pain before eventually getting up.

After seeing that both players involved had contacted her, Las Vegas coach Becky Hammon appealed the decision, but her request was denied.
