Deranged bow-wielding Wyoming man is arrested for going on deer-killing spree and leaving carcasses across town
A man is facing multiple charges for an alleged bow-tie killing after the carcasses of nine deer were found scattered throughout Cody, Wyoming.
Joshua Tamirat Wielhouwer, 20, turned himself in after fleeing a foot chase with Wyoming game wardens patrolling the Park County area.
Weilhouwer is facing 18 charges of trophy hunting, including nine for illegal killing of big game and nine for willful destruction of big game.
He was pursued on foot by Wyoming Game and Fish Department ranger Spencer Carstens, who saw the suspect carrying a compound bow.
Court documents show that between August 27 and September 4, two males, six females and a calf were killed and found with arrow wounds from hunting in Cody, including one floating in a pond. Cowboy State Daily reported.

Carstens and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department have collected surveillance footage as part of their investigation, which shows a silver car that matches the one found at the scene of the foot chase, the Powell Tribune.
Each Class A misdemeanor carries a fine of up to $10,000 and one year in prison.
Wielhouwer is currently in custody and bail has been set at $36,000. His attorney has entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf.
Cody’s deer population has recently declined due to severe winters. It is legal to hunt deer within the city limits in Wyoming with permits and permission from property owners.
