Carole Middleton, the mother of the Princess of Wales, has launched her party favors business in the US and has used a cardboard cutout of herself to promote the new move.

Party Piece was founded in 1987 by Kate Middleton’s mother when she was looking for inspiration for her daughter’s fifth birthday party.

Realizing there was a gap in the market, she founded the company that provides pressured parents with an easy choice of imaginative parties for their children.

The brand’s best-selling Party Pieces collection includes products such as plates, napkins, cups, hats, balloons, treat stands and decorations.

The business is based on Child’s Court Farm in Yattendon, Berkshire. It employs 40 people and ships 4,000 orders per week.

All three of Carole’s children have worked for the company at one time – Kate helped develop the first birthday and baby category.

Carole previously mentioned that in the beginning they had to do ‘everything themselves’ and that the children sometimes helped with tasks such as taking orders and filling boxes.

Now the Party Pieces collection is sold in the United States and Carole, 67, has visited several stores to see her products, as well as a cardboard version of herself.

It’s the brand’s first retail partnership outside the UK and marks the start of “bigger expansion plans” in the US, according to the official Instagram account.

It comes just a year after a successful e-commerce launch in the UK, quickly making Party Pieces Collections a best-selling range for the brand.

However, the mail order company suffered a loss of nearly £300,000 last year.

Recently published figures reveal that Party Pieces Holdings posted a loss of £285,506 in 2021, leaving a net deficit on its balance sheet at £1.35 million.

The new venture across the Atlantic is the next phase of growth for Party Pieces. It will make its products available in 39 stores for the first time in the US.

“It’s very exciting to see our Party Pieces collection expand into the US, starting with Saker ShopRites, a leading New Jersey retailer and family-owned company with a long history of dedication to the customers and communities the stores serve.” said Carole Middleton.

“This is the culmination of great teamwork and we are excited to partner with Saker ShopRites for our first launch.”

Richard Saker, President and CEO of Saker ShopRites, said: “We are delighted to be the first US retail partner for British heritage brand Party Pieces.

“We know that our customers get back together to celebrate special occasions in their lives and they want to make their parties spectacular.”
