Dennis Quaid insists he doesn’t ‘regret anything’ about marriage to Meg Ryan – despite both having affairs
Dennis Quaid spoke candidly about the end of his marriage to Meg Ryan, 62.
During an appearance on Who’s talking to Chris Wallace? On Friday, the 70-year-old Rookie star said he has no regrets about his 10-year marriage to the Sleepless in Seattle star, who was recently honored at the Sarajevo Film Festival.
Although both parties had a stormy relationship during their relationship, the A Dog’s Purpose star admitted that Meg’s fame played a role in the rift in their marriage.
“When I met Meg, I was there career-wise and she was there, and it just happened,” Quaid said, indicating how Meg’s fame grew during their marriage and surpassed his own.
He continued: ‘I tried to be a big person and told myself it didn’t bother me, but people are people.’

The couple began dating in 1987, shortly after Meg appeared in Top Gun and her star began to rise.
By the time he entered rehab in the 1990s, she was unstoppable with hits like When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle.
He claims that her success eventually drove a wedge between them.
“Meg is such a wonderful, sweet person and very talented and she deserves all her success,” he said, praising his ex-wife.
“I have no regrets about my marriage to Meg,” he added. “We took out Jack Quaid, who may well overshadow both of us.”
Dennis was accused of infidelity in their marriage and Meg had an affair with Russell Crowe.
Yet from Meg’s point of view, the affair with Crowe was a symptom of her “unhealthy marriage” and not the cause of its failure.
“I was very sad that it fell apart the way it seemed to. It was never about another man,” she told Oprah Winfrey in 2006. “It was just about what my relationship with Dennis couldn’t handle.”
“I think when the tabloids get their hands on three celebrities, you’re in real trouble… I didn’t leave my marriage for Russell Crowe,” she added. “I left my marriage.”
