Shannen Doherty’s ex-husband Ashley Hamilton arrested after he’s accused of pulling knife on Beverly Hills hotel staffer

Actor Ashley Hamilton, the ex-husband of late actress Shannen Doherty, has been arrested in Beverly Hills, California, accused of pulling a knife on a hotel employee.

The 49-year-old Los Angeles resident was accused of pulling a knife on a hotel employee around 5 a.m. on Aug. 24, police sources said. TMZ.

Hamilton, who has appeared in films including 2013’s Iron Man 3 and 1993’s Beethoven’s 2nd, “took a fighting stance” while facing the hotel worker, sources told the outlet.

According to authorities, the employee woke Hamilton up on the couch where he was sleeping in the establishment’s lobby and asked him to leave.

Hamilton, the son of 85-year-old actor George Hamilton, got into an argument with the employee, authorities told the outlet. He pulled a pocket knife on the employee, who called 911.

Police arrived on scene and found the gun in the hotel lobby. They then approached Hamilton, who was married to Doherty from 1993-1994, and model Angie Everhart from 1996-1997.

Police told the newspaper that the employee indicated they wanted to press charges against Hamilton, who was subsequently arrested on a weapons violation.

Hamilton was then taken to a nearby medical facility to determine if he was under the influence.

After Hamilton was declared recovered at the hospital, officers gave him a ticket and released him.

Hamilton told the outlet that he was “startled” by the employee waking him up, and that he has little recollection of the incident overall. He said he “didn’t mean any harm to the employee,” the outlet reported.

Hamilton told TMZ that he told doctors at the hospital that he was taking medication for a diagnosis of squamous cell skin cancer.

He said he had been taking oxycodone for his illness, having undergone two surgeries and multiple treatment sessions.

Authorities said the case will go to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, where officials will determine whether to file further charges.

Hamilton said he was “shocked” by the employee who woke him up, and that he has little recollection of the incident overall and that he “meant no harm to the employee.”

Hamilton was married to Doherty from 1993 to 1994 and to model Angie Everhart from 1996 to 1997.

Hamilton spoke to the newspaper earlier this summer after Doherty died of breast cancer on July 13 at the age of 53.

“Shannen wasn’t just my wife, she was my guardian angel,” Hamilton said TMZ July 15. ‘Even though things don’t always turn out the way we hope, she was by my side through some of my darkest moments.

“My love and admiration for her lasted far longer than our short-lived marriage.”

Hamilton told the newspaper that he had not contacted Doherty because of her health problems, in order to give her “space and peace”, a decision he now regrets.

“It was inspiring to many to see her so stoically battle this terrible disease, but even more so to me as a cancer survivor,” Hamilton said. “The world has lost a free spirited soul and my heart aches for her and all who loved her. May she rest in peace.”

Doherty told her 90210 co-star Jason Priestley earlier this year that her marriage to Hamilton influenced her role on the Fox series, from which she was fired in 1994.

“I was in a terrible marriage and things were happening in that marriage that made it really hard for me to consistently be on time for work,” Doherty said on her podcast Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty in January. “I didn’t even want to leave the house because I was afraid that [Hamilton] was going to get drugs.’
