Nathan Cleary celebrates girlfriend Mary Fowler’s achievements as he showcases her history-making Barbie – and it drives fans wild

Nathan Cleary has delighted his fans by giving them a glimpse into his love for girlfriend Mary Fowler.

The NRL player and the Matildas footballer have been evenly matched since last year and Nathan proved just how much he loves each other when he paid tribute to his sporting love in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

Amid a carousel of photos of the loved-up couple, the 26-year-old shared a photo of a Barbie doll made in Mary’s likeness, sitting on its own.

The doll was sitting among the books and was wearing a cute green and gold Matildas uniform.

“The last slides. Mary’s doll next to a panther,” someone wrote in the Instagram comments.

Another said: ‘Okay this one is super cute – not the Mary Barbie’, while another commented: ‘Mary’s doll is really cute though’.

“Your Mary Fowler figurine,” another said, while someone else wrote: “You and Mary make me melt, man.”

“I love the Mary doll. It even has the little black gloves,” said another.

Earlier this year, Mary was recognized for her amazing achievements on the field after being featured in a new line of Barbie dolls.

The 21-year-old Matildas star led her country to the semi-finals of the World Cup last year and was part of Australia’s bid to win gold at the Paris Olympics.

Fowler is seen as a star of the future for club and country and has already signed impressive sponsorship deals with the likes of sportswear giant Adidas.

In May, it was announced that doll manufacturer Barbie had launched a design based on the striker. Fowler proudly showed off the plastic figurine on Instagram.

“Meet my Barbie role model doll,” she posted.

‘I’m super grateful for the opportunity to capture and share a version of myself when I’m feeling my strongest and most confident.

“Thank you Barbie for making me a mini Mary and reminding me how important it is to be yourself.”

Fowler’s doll, featuring her famous black gloves, earrings and hairstyle, was unveiled alongside tennis legend Venus Williams and soccer legend Christine Sinclair.

“When I first saw myself as Barbie, it was crazy,” Fowler said in a statement.

‘I was honestly a little speechless because I never thought I would have a Barbie that looks exactly like me.

“I think there are so many other incredible women out there that are made like Barbies, and I never thought I would be up there. I’m just super grateful and honored to be a part of this.”

“I really wanted it to recreate a moment in my life where I felt really strong and confident, and for me that moment was last year at the World Cup,” she said.

‘I thought of all the little details at that time and the boots are as realistic as they look in real life.’

Fowler is back in Australia after the Matildas’ disappointing Olympic Games in Paris, where they failed to reach the knockout stages despite a valiant performance against the United States in their final group game.

Mary and Nathan started dating late last year. Ny Breaking Australia was the first to report on their relationship.
