Mom-of-10 who became a grandma aged 36 reveals how she takes care of her large brood and the hefty amount she spends on groceries every month

A mother of 10 who became a grandmother at 36 has opened up about her hectic family life, including spending a lot of money on groceries and receiving a lot of hate online.

Ashley, 38, and Jerry Couzens, 40, from the US, are no strangers to chaos. They are often greeted by a packed house when they return home to their 10 children.

The mother and father, who have been nicknamed ‘Couzens Dozen’, have opened up about what it’s really like to have so many children while living with Real.

The couple say they often spend as much as $1,400 on groceries and eat out every month, and they talk at length about how they felt when their then 18-year-old daughter told them she was pregnant.

Ashley and Jerrod also described the cruel words of strangers who accused them of trying to “overpopulate” the world and have children to get “government money.”

“All I know is chaos and craziness,” Ashley said at the beginning of the clip.

Ashley and Jerrod revealed they have six daughters: Alex, 21, Ashlyn, 19, Ava, 15, Adayah, 11, Aila, 9, and Adora, 1.

The parents also have four boys: Tre, 21, Jerzy, 13, Jett, 12, and Jrue, 2.

The family said they are often referred to as the “Couzens Dozen” because of their large brood.

Ashley admitted she talked about her 10 children: ‘I think they were all surprises.’

While making breakfast for her children, she confessed that she didn’t usually make breakfast for them because she didn’t cook very often. But when she did make breakfast for them, it was usually only on the ‘weekends’.

The mother also said that the family spends a large portion of their money on eating out.

Ashley admitted that they spend $1,400 a month on eating out. She then went on to admit that their grocery bill is about the same, bringing the total cost of food to a whopping $2,800.

Because their family is so large, the parents take different approaches: Ashley is the kind parent and Jerrod is the “hammer.”

Their eldest daughter, Alexis, became pregnant with her child when she was 18, making her parents grandparents before they were 40.

Ashley explains: ‘When I found out my eldest was pregnant, I was just kind of upset and thought, “Oh my god, why would she do this to me?”

“But that quickly disappeared and we stepped in as mama bear and papa bear to help her be the best mother she could be.”

Alexis admitted she wasn’t “scared” to tell her parents because they are “chilled out.”

However, Ashley revealed that the judgment doesn’t bother her and she has no problem with it because she is happy with her family.

Ashley shared that sharing her life online is generally great, but admitted that there are a lot of negatives to it too.

She said: ‘One of the negative things I’ve heard is that I get a lot of money from the government because we have so many children, so I’m just having children to get money from the government.

‘[People] I think I have a a bunch of boyfriends, ex-boyfriends, baby daddies, etc. while I only have one.’

She also noted that people called her a “dog breeder” and accused her of “child abuse.”

However, Ashley admits that the judgment doesn’t bother her and she doesn’t have a problem with it because she is happy with her family.
