Fans demand James Corden apologize to Balthazar staff instead of its rich owner Keith McNally

Fans don’t believe James Corden is apologizing to NYC restaurant owner Balthazar, claiming he was only sorry he was caught ‘abusing’ staff and is demanding to apologize to the waiters he berates instead of their rich boss.

Corden was laughed at on Instagram by restaurateur Keith McNally, who shamed him over two incidents – one in June and one in October.

“James Corden is a tremendously gifted comedian, but a little Cretin of a man. And the most abusive customer of my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago,” McNally wrote in his outrageous Instagram post yesterday.

Hours later, McNally posted an update – that Corden had called to apologize “profusely,” and that he was no longer banned from the restaurant.

“Anyone big enough to apologize to a good-for-nothing like me (and my staff) doesn’t deserve to be banned somewhere. Balthazar especially… all is forgiven,’ he said.

But fans have not been so quick to forgive — and many are skeptical of Corden’s apology.

Not so fast, Corden! Balthazar loyalists and McNally’s Instagram followers were skeptical of Corden’s apology and demanded that he return to the restaurant to apologize directly to the staff he “abused.”

“Funny how he apologized after every news outlet picked up on this story,” said one of McNally’s followers.

“I suspect there is little to no sincerity in his apology, but he realizes the tide is turning or turning. He jumped the shark for me,’ said another.

“Would he have apologized if he hadn’t been called?” asked another.

Others demanded that Corden return to Balthazar, hat in hand, to apologize personally to the staff.

“I hope he has the humility to rock Balthazar with a huge bunch of flowers, a huge apology and a huge tip to the server who had to put up with his rightful nonsense,” said one of McNally’s followers.

McNally has not responded outside of his Instagram posts.

The London-born restaurateur also owns Manhattan hotspots Minetta Tavern and Morandi.

His original post labeled Corden the most abusive customer Balthazar had ever seen in his 25 years in New York.

The first incident was in June. Corden found a hair in one of the meals at his party.

“Although this is diabolical, it happens very occasionally in all restaurants,” the team manager noted in their report.

Corden was extremely mean, saying, ‘Give us another round of drinks this second. And take care of all our drinks so far, too.’

The manager also said he threatened to write a “nasty review on Yelp.”

The second incident was in October. Corden’s wife, Julia, had ordered an egg yolk omelet with cheese and a salad.

Corden exploded about the fact that not only was the dish served with a “little bit of egg white mixed with the egg yolk,” but when the kitchen remade the dish, they sent it with a side of home fries instead of Julia’s desired salad.

Then James Corden started yelling madly at the waiter, ‘You can’t do your job! You can’t do your job! Maybe I should go to the kitchen and make the omelette myself!’ McNally wrote.

He said the general manager offered free glasses of champagne to smooth things out, and that Corden was “pleasant” to him, but not to the waiter.

“I don’t often have a client, until today I 86’d Corden,” McNally said.

Corden has not made any public statements about the controversy.
