Fatman Scoop’s eerie prediction about his own death during one of his final Australian radio interviews

An Australian radio duo has revealed that Fatman Scoop made a chilling prediction about his own death in one of his final interviews in Melbourne last year.

The American rapper died at the age of 53 after falling asleep on stage at Hamden Town Center Park, Connecticut, on Friday and being rushed to hospital.

Now, Mix94.5 FM’s Pete & Kymba has released one of the hype man’s final interviews, in which he said he wanted to “die by his own sword.”

Radio duo Pete Curulli and Kymba Cahill unearthed the 2023 interview in which Fatman promoted the annual R&B event Fridayz Live.

During the candid conversation, he revealed that he was looking for a healthier lifestyle after losing weight and enjoying cycling along Perth’s West Coast Highway.

As the trio discussed plans to go biking together, Pete said, “Mr. Scoop, I have a suggestion for you. I just found a tandem, a three-person bike.”

“Do you want the three of us to go on a bike ride?” asked Fatman, whose real name was Isaac Freeman III, to which Pete enthusiastically agreed.

Fatman, however, seemed somewhat reserved. He said, “If the three of us are riding a bike and one of us makes a mistake, everyone dives.”

He then made the eerie statement, “If I’m going to dive, if I’m going to die – I want to die on my own sword. I don’t want to die on your sword, sir.”

This came after another Australian radio duo, Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, revealed Fatman’s last words before he tragically collapsed on stage.

The radio hosts spoke about the tragedy on Monday morning’s Kyle and Jackie O Show, playing a short clip of what would be Fatman’s final performance.

The American rapper could be heard whipping up the enthusiastic crowd with the words: ‘I told you Hamden to make some noise!’

Then he shouted, “If you came to party,” after which he took a long pause to catch his breath.

“Make some noise,” he continued before collapsing onto the stage.

During his final show, screams were heard as the legendary hype man was seen climbing onto a platform and then disappearing from view.

Doctors rushed to revive him, but Fatman’s tour manager finally announced his death on Saturday, saying he was “at a loss for words.”

Freeman’s manager, DJ and producer Birch Michael, announced the rapper’s passing “with a heavy heart” in social media posts.

Shortly afterwards, the artist’s family released a statement saying he was “not just a world-class artist – he was a father, brother, uncle and a friend.”

“Last night the world lost a shining soul, a beacon of light on stage and in life,” the family said.

‘He was the laugh of our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength and courage.’

Born in New York in 1971, Freeman made a name for himself working with megastars like Missy Elliot and Mariah Carey in the early 2000s.

He was known for his deep, booming voice and his family described him as ‘the undisputed voice of the club’.

The three-time Grammy Award winner recently ventured into podcasting and reality TV, including an appearance on the Channel 5 show Celebrity Big Brother: UK vs USA in 2015.

The exact cause of the performer’s death is unclear, but the passing occurred after he suffered a medical emergency on stage.
