Jenna Bush Hager opens up to Hoda Kotb about ‘extreme’ phobia that sees her ‘hit the dirt’ once she encounters it

Today, presenter Jenna Bush Hager opens up about an “extreme” phobia she suffers from that leaves her “on the floor” in fear.

During Monday’s episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna, the mother of three and her co-host, Hoda Kotb, discussed a DailyMail.com article about the most common phobias in the U.S. That’s when Jenna decided to be honest about hers.

“Well, I have globophobia,” the 42-year-old announced, before joking, “That’s the fear of reading phobia words! No, it’s actually the extreme fear of balloons,” as Hoda, 60, confirmed, “Jenna is afraid of balloons.”

“Yeah,” the former First Daughter echoed, while Hoda added, “And we don’t really want to get into the reason, but she does that,” to which Jenna admitted, “If I hear a balloon pop right near my head, I’ll be on the floor, for real.”

Hoda further confirmed Jenna’s words, saying, “She literally falls to the ground, she’s on the ground,” while Jenna also talked about another phobia of hers.

“I’m also afraid of… and this is a fear I don’t like to think about, but normally I’m not afraid of heights, I can go on roller coasters, but walking… I don’t know, I’m afraid,” she said as Hoda started to giggle.

Jenna continues, “Sometimes when I’m hiking… you’re at the top, at the top, at the top and you’re like, ‘If I hit this rock, I’m going to fall off,’ that’s what I do!”

Jenna had this to say about Henry, her husband of 16 years: ‘When we first started dating, we went hiking and I lived in Latin America for a while.

“We went to every country and we climbed the highest point and we were in Ecuador, and it was close. I was freaking out!” Jenna continued as Hoda continued to laugh.

The story comes less than a week after Hoda, a mother of two, poked fun at her co-host’s childhood obsession, which she didn’t outgrow until she was 22.

During last Tuesday’s episode, the duo reminisced about their bedrooms when they were younger.

She continued, “I remember just crawling into bed and thinking, ‘What could be better than laying here with the Peanuts characters?’ And I had a million stuffed animals. I loved stuffed animals, I had them lined up.”

Jenna then revealed, “My bedroom was, first of all I remember the windows and looking out and there was a fence and my cat Cowboy would sit on the fence. I had a chair that I would sit on by the air conditioner and write in my journal or write stories.

When Hoda asked if she had any posters, Jenna replied, “I don’t remember the walls. I think my room was small and mostly windows, there was a bookshelf with all my books and then bookshelves around the closet. And I really loved Barbie… until I was 22!”

Hoda laughed at her comment and said, “Yeah, that was your thing, very weird,” to which Jenna quickly fired back, “Well, you did have a stuffy nose!”
