She has remained silent about the ordeal but shared her side of the story after being confronted by BBC bosses during an investigation into the conduct of their professional dancers.

In a statement to her two million Instagram followers, she explained that she “struggled with the fear of speaking out publicly” because she was “afraid of the public backlash and victim shaming.”

The documentary maker wrote: ‘There are reports of the way I was treated on the show and there were witnesses to certain events. There is also video of certain incidents that are incredibly painful to watch.
