Kieran Tripper could still make a surprise departure from Newcastle United after reports in Turkey suggest the Magpies right-back has reached a personal agreement with Super Lig club Eyupspor.
There has been much speculation this summer about a Trippier move away from St James’ Park, and it is thought that it could still happen, despite the fact that the UK transfer window closed last Friday.
Like many other European clubs, the Turkish transfer market is still open for almost two weeks, so a possible outgoing transfer for the 33-year-old is still possible.
According to Turkish journalist Resat Can Ozbudak, Istanbul-based club Eyupspor, currently managed by former Atletico Madrid and Barcelona star Arda Turan, have already reached an agreement with the player.
The report does not reveal whether it is a permanent sale or a loan, all that is mentioned is that Trippier is currently negotiating his current contract with Newcastle.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has said Trippier is in his plans but cannot guarantee he will start

Trippier is believed to have wanted to leave Newcastle ever since he finished his international duty with England at the European Championships, and his attitude towards departing players has only grown stronger since the new Premier League season kicked off in August.
The England star has been told by Magpies head coach Eddie Howe that he will be sidelined for the season opener against Southampton and that Bruno Guimaraes will now be the permanent outfield captain, Mail Sport can reveal.
Trippier, who was vice-captain, previously wore the captain’s armband in Jamaal Lascelles’ absence and was said to be disappointed when he was told he would no longer be able to fulfil the role.
Trippier has two years left on his contract at St James’ Park and would be willing to leave next week if the right opportunity arose.
Everton had considered a transfer but Trippier was reportedly not interested. Atalanta and Galatasaray had also shown interest.
He is hugely popular on Tyneside and has been a transformative signing for the club since joining from Atletico Madrid for £12million in January 2022.
