Deion Sanders’ son Shilo labeled ‘dirtiest player in college football’ for late hits in Colorado win
Shilo Sanders, one of the sons of Coach Prime on the Colorado American football team, has irked American football fans on social media with several late hits in an exhibition game.
North Dakota State led 17-14 against the Buffaloes on a crucial 3rd-and-6 play in the second quarter of Thursday’s game, when Shilo passed wide receiver Tyler Terhark after the ball had already fallen to the ground on an incomplete pass.
Sanders was called for a personal foul, allowing North Dakota to move the ball from the 14-yard line to the 7-yard line.
ESPN rules analyst Matt Austin called the foul a “good one” on ESPN’s broadcast, adding that Sanders “certainly could have avoided that kind of serious contact. If he had just gone in and thrown him to the ground, it wouldn’t have been a big deal, but it looked like he was accelerating and trying to leave a message, so I think it’s a good call.”
Deion reacted angrily to Shilo’s late tackle on the sideline and threw his hands in the air, palms facing the sky, in disbelief.

Shilo’s father and former NFL star Deion Sanders, who coaches the Buffs, responded angrily
Shilo was also seen holding North Dakota wide receiver Braylon Henderson off the bounce seconds after another play ended and pushing his opponent into a water cooler.
The 24-year-old cornerback made a similar move to another wideout at the Buffs’ six-yard line, sending him crashing into the side of the field.
“Shilo Sanders may be the DIRTiest player in college football,” an NFL fan account on X wrote. “NOT the best look for the Buffs.”
“Get Shilo Sanders under control. He’s going to injure himself, someone else, and/or get a penalty that will negatively impact the team,” someone else shared.
“Shilo Sanders is really hurting his draft position with all these late setbacks,” one user noted.

In a report tracking the draft status of college football stars, Shilo is described as an undisciplined player. The cornerback is predicted to be an undrafted free agent next April.
“I see a lot of people with top 100 grades for Shilo Sanders, but this is one reason I rated him a UDFA. He’s not talented enough to compensate for these kinds of idiotic plays. Undisciplined player,” the account read.
Luckily, Colorado has Shilo’s brother, star quarterback Sheddeur Sanders, to showcase some talent on the roster, along with two-way star Travis Hunter.
The Buffs narrowly defeated North Dakota 31-26. They next play an exhibition game against Nebraska before their Big 12 opener on Sept. 21 against Baylor.
