Manchester United’s £190,000-a-week star Harry Maguire plays bingo at £82-a-night Haven holiday park

Football star Harry Maguire was spotted playing bingo at a holiday park in Haven despite being worth a whopping £18million.

The Manchester United defender, who earns £190,000-a-week, was spotted at the Haven Presthaven resort in North Wales on Sunday night, where a three-night stay for a family of four costs just £319.

Holidaymaker Jenny Holt said she first spotted Maguire’s younger brother Laurence, who plays for League Two club MK Dons, before the Premier League star also turned up.

Maguire, 31, took some time to relax in the park after playing 79 minutes in United’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton on Saturday.

Jenny, from Stoke-on-Trent, told What’s The Jam: “We were getting offered free drinks everywhere we went, which we thought was strange. We thought it was just a special birthday or something until we saw someone who looked like Harry Maguire’s family.

‘We already knew that there would be some VIP guests, but when we were approached by the Haven staff, they asked if we could move our seats during the evening program, because the seats we were sitting in were reserved.

‘Without us knowing, for the Maguire family.’

The next day, Jenny, 32, and her son Laylan, 10, and daughter Emily, 15, were completely overwhelmed.

She said: ‘At around 8.30pm Harry Maguire entered the live lounge at Haven with security.

‘Children jumped up and down with excitement and the whole atmosphere changed.

‘My children and my friend’s son were overjoyed. They are huge Manchester United fans and Maguire is our favourite player.

We couldn’t believe our eyes.

‘Harry Maguire was in Haven and enjoyed the bingo and the evening show.’

She continued: ‘There was a group of children behind him waiting anxiously for a photo. Security asked them to hold on so he could enjoy the show.

‘Eventually my son and daughter approached Laurence, who then had Maguire sign my son’s shirt with his bingo dabber.

‘Laurence was dancing with the kids. It was strange because we shared the dance floor with the Maguire family, among others.

“It was surreal and really made everyone’s night!”

And to their delight, Jenny and her family managed to get a photo with the footballer.

She added: ‘Only a few could take pictures because he was there with his family, so we are very grateful and happy.

‘We are just a normal family, with a little boy who plays in defence and sees Maguire as an inspiration.

“It’s definitely a memory we can all cherish.”

It’s not the first time the footballer has been spotted enjoying a modest staycation.

Maguire was previously spotted outside an ice cream parlour in the seaside town of Mablethorpe, near Skegness, Lincolnshire, as he posed for selfies with fans.

The defender played in the first two games of the season for Manchester United and was also called up to the England squad on Thursday.
