Steph Curry ‘agrees new $63MILLION Golden State Warriors contract’ after USA Olympics success

Steph Curry has reportedly signed a new one-year, $63 million contract with the Golden State Warriors.

The 36-year-old Curry achieved another historic feat this summer after inspiring the U.S. team to win gold at the Paris Olympics.

And as a reward for his heroics in the French capital, the legendary point guard will be rewarded by Golden State.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski claims he is close to signing a contract extension with the Warriors that will increase his league-highest salary by another $7 million.

The new deal will keep him with the team through the 2026-27 season, marking 18 years with the team since he was selected seventh overall in the 2009 NBA Draft.

Curry is widely regarded as one of the greatest NBA players of all time, winning four championships in Golden State and setting the record for most three-pointers in history with 3,747.

Earlier this month, the Ohio-born star added an Olympic gold medal to his collection when he scored a sensational 24 points to secure a 98-87 victory over France in the Paris final.

During and after the victory, he taunted the home side by performing his trademark ‘Nacht Nacht’ celebration on the pitch and then wearing a hoodie with the French translation of ‘Nuit Nuit’ on the front.

The US held off France thanks to Curry’s 24 points, while an all-star lineup featuring LeBron and Kevin Durant thwarted a late surge by the home team.

The Americans led by as many as 14 points in the fourth quarter, but saw their lead shrink to just three points after a Victor Wembanyama tip-in with just under three minutes remaining.

From that point on, Curry was very successful, scoring four three-pointers from 2:48 minutes in, leading the US to the gold medal.

His final blow came on a restart with 35 seconds left, when he fired a three-pointer over the arms of Evan Fournier and Nicolas Batum to cut the lead to nine.

After the Olympics, Curry made a surprise appearance at the recent Democratic National Convention to endorse Kamala Harris as the next US president.

As he wore his medal, he spoke of the “honor” of achieving Olympic glory, then added a pre-recorded video message: “That unity on and off the field reminded us that together we can do anything and continue to inspire the world.”

Curry continued: “That’s why I believe Kamala as president can bring back that unity and move our country forward. This is about keeping hope and faith in our country, making sure families can be taken care of in our most precious times.

“Last year I visited Kamala with my team at the White House and I can tell you one thing I knew then and I know now: The Oval Office is a perfect fit for her.”
