Brittany Mahomes says she ‘doesn’t give a f***’ what people think of her amid public support for Donald Trump

Brittany Mahomes has revealed how her husband Patrick taught her to ignore social media trolls amid controversy over her open support for Donald Trump.

Mahomes has liked several social media posts over the past week expressing her support for Donald Trump in the upcoming election. This position seems to be at odds with that of her new best friend Taylor Swift, who is dating Patrick’s Kansas City Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce.

Now, in an interview on the WHOOP podcastBrittany credits Patrick with helping her block out all the criticism she receives online as she becomes more and more famous.

“He’s really good at blocking people, so it’s helped having him around,” she said. “The biggest thing he’s always told me is to stop worrying about what people think, especially people who don’t even know you.

“I think social media used to really affect me. Now it’s just that I honestly don’t give a shit what people say about me. And I think he helped me get to that point.

“I’m strong in who I am. I’m confident in who I am. I’m confident in my relationship and his, and I’m confident in our lives. So why should what other people say even matter?”

Brittany admits she had to learn this from Patrick, who benefited from being the son of a professional athlete, the retired Minnesota Twins, and New York Mets reliever Pat Mahomes Sr.

“He’s a lot better at it than I am, maybe because his dad played professional sports,” she said. “I think he sat around and understood it a lot better than I did.

“It really helped me that he helped me through it because he’s really good at managing those kinds of things.”

Brittany said on Wednesday that she liked the comments on her latest Instagram post, in which she called for Trump to win the election and supported her for publicly expressing her views.

Earlier this week, Brittany, a pregnant mother of two, reposted a comment from pastor and author Shane Pruitt, who appeared to respond to the negative reactions to her behavior.

“Contrary to the tone of today’s world…” the post begins. “You can disagree with someone and still love them. You can have different opinions and still be kind.”

Her husband Patrick has never publicly stated his political views, but Swift said in 2019 that she wanted Hillary Clinton to win the 2016 election over Trump.

Patrick and Brittany have become close with Travis and Taylor since the singer started dating Kelce last September.

They were vacationing together in Amsterdam during the off-season, where Swift was on tour, and are both expected to attend the Chiefs’ NFL opener next Thursday against the Baltimore Ravens.

And this weekend, they spent time together in Rhode Island, where Kelce and Swift reunited after her four-month tour of Europe.

The Chiefs have a shot at NFL history this season: They could become the first team ever to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
